Obama doesnt plan to commemorate the anniversary Wednesday of Johnsons speech in 1964, which gave rise to Medicaid, Head Start and a broad range of other federal anti-poverty programs. The presidents only public event Tuesday was a plea for Congress to approve extended benefits for the long-term unemployed, another reminder of the persistent economic troubles during Mr. Obamas five years in office.

Although the president often rails against income inequality in America, his policies have had little impact overall on poverty. A record 47 million Americans receive food stamps, about 13 million more than when he took office.

Obamas anti-poverty efforts are basically to give more people more free stuff,

too many government anti-poverty programs still discourage marriage, factoring into statistics that show more than four in 10 children are born to unmarried parents.
When the war on poverty started, about 6 percent of children were born outside of marriage, he said. Today thats 42 percent catastrophe.

People who are given free stuff never learn the value of that stuff. Therefore, they never learn to appreciate when they have earned it.
When you look at things we could have done with all that money that would have contributed to economic growth and overall prosperity..it is a crying shame.
The welfare has not just destroyed to black family..it has done nearly the same for whites and hispanics.
Rat hole deepens expected.

Nothing that MADE IN AMERICA won’t reverse.
Impeachment File for B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, a documented legal citizen of the Sovereign Nation of Indonesia.
It’s called ‘Earned Success’.
When you’re constantly told that nothing you can do is good enough, the idea of owning your own success becomes unattainable. Somehow, not being extremely rich is viewed as failure.

“There should be billboards put up in all minority neighborhoods with LBJs picture and quote!”
An interesting idea. What, I wonder, would happen?
That is especially true with their free K-12 education. The people who could benefit from it the most are the people who respect it's purpose and potential the least.
LBJ Ill have those n******s voting Democratic for the next 200 years.
They’ve been lounging on the Democrat plantation for 50 years now, so LBJ’s been right. The only thing that may get in the way in the next 75 years is the U.S. running out of Chinese money to continue this bribery to the welfare class.
If the same definition of poverty used in 1964 were in use now, we would have virtually none. When you define poverty as having less of anything than someone else or as being in an income group below a certain percentage of the average national income, you will always have poverty. By definition, the more prosperous the country as a whole becomes, the more likely you are to have people you can define as living in poverty. In most of the world, having a lifestyle equal to our poverty class would be considered quite a success story.
I’d have to agree!
Mark Levin quoted a piece about a very common object in our homes, a pencil. It spoke of the numerous jobs involved in developing, designing, and manufacturing of it. An effective message, but one that is lost on an administration that seems convinced that socialism and racial disharmony is somehow a viable solution.
Of course the President loves poor people...just look at how many he has created since taking office.
