“Hey Abu, we’ll let you go if you follow this plan: Kidnap the Ambassador to Lybia and hold him until we release the Blind Sheik back to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.”

Why is it that this story is popping up at all the news sites like it’s new news? Is it all because of the NYT article? Or is there something more we should be seeing? Is there another shoe connected to this part of the story that is about to drop???

Intelligence sources tell Fox News they are convinced the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was directly tied to Al Qaeda — with a former Guantanamo detainee involved.

Well, heck, yes, citizen! Whom do you think was the original cause of "anthropogenic global warming?"That cowboy from Texas who stole the election of 2000 from poor Liar Gore is the root cause of all the world's most serious problems.

Coming on the heels of the NY Times article, it strikes me that this is an attempt to attack the credibility of that article and, hence, the entire narrative that is being built up for Hillary to escape blame. Could be that some people inside the intelligence community have decided to begin selective leaks to damage Hillary. Damaging Obama is probably just useful collateral damage in their eyes.

‘Course this is pure speculation on my part.

Someone’s out to exonerate Obama, I see. Like Congress has no culpability, and who was in the Senate then?

I think there’s something to your speculation...

I’m also thinking we may get trickles of new information this year.

Sorry but some of this does stick to W.
After 9/11 , when those a holes were stacking up in Guantanemo, we should have IMMEDIATELY started to try them in military tribunals, and executed the guilty. If they had started this process early in the war, we would not be in the mess we are now, holding them indefinitely or repatriating them back to the fight....

Nobody said some of this does not stick to Mr. Bush. His resolve certainly evaporated once the Dems were voted in back in 2006.

That was way too late. Should have started end of 2001, beginning of 2002. When the country had the anger and the resolve to do it.

There is no way any Gitmo detainee would have been executed-no stomach on our part. I do remember the rats milking the issue-didn’t cost them anything.

There already were undercurrents of weakness in the GOP establishment back then. Most poignant was the invention of the term “war on terror” instead of actually identifying the antagonists responsible for 9/11 by name.

I identify those with power yet without stomach as liberals. Party labels are meaningless. What think ye?
