Christie and the IRS - Contrast the Governor's contrition with Obama's lack thereof
Wall Street Journal ^ | Jan. 9, 2014

Now that we have your attention, allow us to explain. Governor Chris Christie apologized to New Jersey on Thursday for aides who closed traffic lanes in order to punish a Democratic mayor, and he fired a deputy chief of staff. We mention the IRS because Mr. Christie's contrition contrasts so sharply with President Obama's handling of the tax agency's abuse of political opponents and his reluctance to fire anyone other than a military general for anything.

Of course... he’s a threat, in their minds.

That being said, he fails the 2nd Amendment litmus test for me, so whatever happens to his fat ass is no concern of mine.

And his people conveniently handed the dimwits a nice, packaged set of talking points to divert attention from the debacle of Obamacare...

Contrition is not my point. Obama abused his power by using the IRS to help him get reelected in 2012. That is a much more serious offense that blocking a bridge out of some petty resentment after an election. I don’t condone either act, and I am not a Christie fan, but let’s get some perspective here.

If Christie committed a sin, Obama committed the unforgivable sin. The IRS is one of the most intrusive government agencies that we have, and has tremendous power over our lives. To use that agency to further his own political goals was a very serious crime. And yet, Obama skates and Christie gets fried.

Freepers are doing the bidding of the left and they don’t even realize it...it is dismaying - I'm not a Christie fan - I voted against him in the last primary and for a third-party candidate last fall - but to continually reject and attack those who show at least some conservative leanings, even though those leanings sometimes may be sporadic and not always on the preferred issues, instead of taking their part against clearly more left-leaning alternatives is to continue to miss the opportunity to help ratchet the country back toward more conservative ground, at least marginally, and to let it drift further and faster toward perpetuate liberal H*ll......

Rocky, I understand you point. Blatant media bias is nothing new. Both issues are quite serious. As I stated, I understand your sentiments.

THEN, his top aide would NOT have taken the fifth over a dozen times!

His top aide has his own ass to save.

Any lawyer worth more than a nickle would tell his client to take the fifth in his position.

All the conservatives gleefully piling dirt on Christie don't realize that they're standing in the hole next to him.

The left doesn't want to just bury Christie, they want to use this scandal to tar all Republicans, the Tea Party, etc.

The media and the moronic pigs who feed at their trough don't distinguish between conservatives and Republicans. In their mind, we're all one big happy family, and we'll all go down together.

It's not about Christie. He's absolutely finished as a candidate for any future office. But it's time for Republicans and conservatives to circle the wagons and start shooting at the other guys for a change.
