The Single Biggest Thing You Can Do to Clean Up the GOP (after NRSC attacks Mark Levin)
Red State ^ | Januiary 10, 2014 | Erick Erickson

Posted on 01/10/2014 3:15:27 AM PST by Timber Rattler

If you have not heard, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has attacked nationally syndicated conservative radio host and best selling author Mark Levin.

They publicly attacked Mark Levin because the Jim DeMint created Senate Conservatives Fund (“SCF”) gives out copies of Mark Levin’s book. The NRSC alleges a quid pro quo relationship to help drive up the popularity of Levin’s book. The book was published in 2009 before SCF was a significant force and had already become a best seller before SCF gave out copies.

This attack follows the National Republican Senatorial Committee (“NRSC”) attacking conservative businesses and threatening to drive them from business because they happen to do business with the Senate Conservatives Fund. The NRSC’s tactics mirror the harassment the IRS inflicted on tea party groups.

The single biggest thing you can do to clean up the GOP is to defeat Mitch McConnell in Kentucky by supporting Matt Bevin.

stop donating to the NRCC

Donate to the Senate Conservatives Fund instead.

Actually an even better thing would be to clean up the national committee which makes party policy.

I received two phone calls (from PA); from NRCC in this week, both times I've told them to "Go to Hell".
That they (the RNCC) shall receive not 1¢ from me b/c of the non-stop active campaign against the Tea Party and (Real) Conservatives.
I furthermore stated that Sen. McConnell opponent, Matt Bevin and Congressman Andy Barry shall be the recipient of any of my support.

Your intentions with your actions are noble as are the intentions of those who stuff all the literature back into the postage paid envelopes and mail it back to the source. The thing is, the people on the other end don’t really care about your point of view.

During one of the Bush campaigns I visited a local Republican HQ to get some Bush bumper stickers. People were present at a phone bank making calls. I overheard them joking about the comments made to them by people who refused to donate.

The same is true with the envelopes, they are opened and the check is extracted. No one reads the phony surveys that ultimately end up with the box you check. No one cares about any comments you scrawl on the literature you put back in the envelope. The envelope openers sole purpose is to process the check.

Ultimately, the vast majority of money the campaigns spend is from the “rich people”—Chamber of Commerce, etc. You’re asked to participate so you can feel like you’re somebody.

What to do? If you don’t have caller i.d. and can thus know to ignore the call, when you answer and determine its a phone solicitation hang up. Don’t comment, don’t provide any demographic information, nothing. If you don’t have a shredder, use the literature you receive to light your fireplace or burn barrel in the back yard.

The hell with them and their games.

I'll go on record as predicting there will eventually be three parties in the US: The Communist Party, the Elitist Party and the Tea Party.

The mainstream media will struggle to choose between the Elitists and the Communists.

Few people today make a difference...Levin and DeMint are two. The NRSC clearly demonstrates their war on conservatism by going after these two. It is as simple as 1, 2, 3. (1)Listen to Levin’s FREE podcasts and (2) get your membership to support Heritage and (3) as stated earlier, cut off all funding to the GOPe. Support the two defending us, drop support for the one attacking us. I practice all three and feel better for it.

The nrsc called me yesterday... oh they thanked me for the tens of thousands of dollars in donations over the years... they pleaded for help in derailing obama and the left... I told them I give to Demint and the SCF, directly to CONSERVATIVE candidates and Sarah Pac... and then I told them to FOAD... we were on to them and we will vote them into obama’s economy. Then I slammed the phone down!

For those who still labor under the misconception that the GOP can be reformed, it can’t. For those who think a third party can’t win, it can.

The GOP is today’s Whig Party. Consider that the Whig Party was displaced by the GOP, even though the Whigs held the White House and Congress. Internal fights over expansion of slavery tore the Whigs apart, many resigning after 1852. By 1856, the party was dead.

Today’s Whigs have declared war on its base. They don’t want Conservatives in the party. Fine, bring it on.

We have an alternative in waiting - the TEA Party. We can start burying this rotting corpse by defeating Boehner and McConnell, preferably in the primaries. If not, a Democrat would be preferable to these capitulators.

Mitch McConnell would rather rule in Hell than serve in Heaven

Until you beat Mitch McConnell, these guys in Washington will neither respect you nor fear you.
