Obama White House Dumps IT Contractor Responsible for Health Care Website (Replacement Has Problems)
The Blaze ^ | January 10, 2014 | Becket Adams

The Obama administration is reportedly dumping the IT contractor responsible for building the glitch-riddled healthcare.gov website.

Officials familiar with the situation say CGI Federal’s inability to resolve the many problems that plague the online federal health care exchanges prompted federal officials to look elsewhere for IT help.

Obama administration officials are preparing to sign a 12-month contract valued at $90 million with a different contractor, Accenture, after CGI Federal’s contract expires in February, the Washington Post reported, citing “a person familiar with the matter.”

Uh-Oh. Accenture seems to have a load of problems of its own as you can see HERE. An oatmeal cookie to the first person to find out how much Accenture has donated to the Democrats.

Don’t these contractors have to post a performance bond anymore?

Accenture, ha, ha, ha!

They are 100% sales. Every employee, from the most junior coder and the guy who waters the plants, are out to sell you more services and more billable hours. That’s all they do. If you let them, they will take over your whole operation and suck out every dollar you have available.

I believe the original contractor is a Michelle buddy. The real bad part is, IIRC, it’s a Canadian Company. Disgraceful.

Accenture?! Accenture?! BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAA! Yeah, that ought to do it... hire a bunch of like-minded ass clowns who spend the bulk of their time documenting how they spent their billable time while the problem continues to get worse. What will Accenture suggest for fixing the problem... why additional consulting engagements, of course. BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAA!

I understand that. But the Miller Act - I believe it’s still in force - requires a contractor to submit a performance bond to protect the government interest in exactly these cases. I wonder why Republicans are silent . . .

In Massachusetts the Commonwealth is bringing in Dell to fix the Healthconnector that CGI botched and is going to be sued.

From the article..:”Accenture had one contracting dispute with the federal government that ended up in court, agreeing in September 2011 to pay $63 million to settle a Justice Department lawsuit alleging that it improperly benefitted from recommending specific hardware and software as part of government contracts, as well as inflating prices on contracts and distorting the federal bidding process. The firm denied any wrongdoing as part of the settlement.”

Should be a non-starter right there...Damn them.

They could only dump the Wookie’s friend while the Wookie was out of the contiguous 48 states and in the middle of the ocean.

$90 million more for a web site that shouldn't cost $25 million to begin with.

There is little doubt that these idiots are going to keep shoveling money at the problem, as the choice of Accenture clearly demonstrates. It also tells you that the morons working off the next hundred mil of taxpayer dollars are as unlikely to be Americans as the CGI hires were, since Accenture is as much in the outsourcing brokerage business as they are in the "consulting" business.

Larger picture: Anybody remember when Papa KeepYerDoc said that nationalized healthcare would "always be cheaper than private healthcare, because there's no profit motive?" To Papa KeepYerDoc, profit motive means nothing more or less than skinning customers. It never occurred to him that it's more about competition and cost containment. Where's the competition in the bid process? Where's the desire to hold down costs?

Nowhere.

Government run enterprises will always be more expensive than private enterprises, because of the profit motive. It's time for the pResident and his various jackasses to learn that lesson.

This company will just join the long list of Soetoro’s administration who have been sacked because they couldn’t manage the process to develop a website. Oh, Wait! I don’t seem to recall any of Zero’s minions who have been fired due to this fiasco. Hell, they can’t even come up with a way to blame George W. Bush for the debacle.
