US LOST 2 MILLION WORKERS IN 2013
Breitbart ^ | Jan 10, 2014 | By Mike Flynn

Posted on 01/10/2014 12:54:38 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Friday's December jobs report was a major disappointment, showing the economy gained just 74k jobs last month. Economists had expected the economy to gain around 200k jobs. The unemployment rate, however, dropped to 6.7% as 347k frustrated job-seekers gave up and left the labor force. We are in an upside-down world where a drop in the unemployment rate is a bad sign for the economy.

The overall labor force shrunk dramatically last year. In December 2012, 155.4 million workers had a job or were actively looking for one. Last month, though, 154.9 million were in the labor force, a drop of over 500k Americans.

It is important to remember that the population grew last year. The US adult population grew by around 2.5 million people. If the labor force were the same percentage of the adult population as last year, 2 million more adults would have jobs or be actively looking for employment. Their disappearance is a drag on the economy.

The Conservative position should be low tariffs, free trade, and a COMPETITIVE manufacturing environment, supported by penalty for forgien[sic] gov-subsidized product.

Funny thing, your statement fails to address income taxes....

This is a money war against the people of the United States.

Protesting the bad and the incompetent used to mean something. Boycotting the purveyors of the bad or incompetent use to mean something.

Perhaps much more massive versions of both might wrestle something out of nothing. Then there is the trusty tax revolt.

We the People aren’t doing much yet, but for polling that we’re sort of mad.

This is our most regrettable trait; we have the bad habit of waiting until AFTER a disaster to start making positive changes.

Throw in the following:

Determination by employees to have businesses pay for their wants in life

Tendency to sue employers so the business they work for will pay for their sex changes

Determination of an UNSKILLED workforce to demand more pay and perks

Spitting in the face of executives who stay up all night running these businesses

Antics by ‘rights groups’ that used to sue on a regular basis and demand major payouts; this is why a lot of businesses are moving overseas to avoid this abuse

A huge part is that businesses no longer want to put up with bad and hostile conditions. Their secret to success is finding a friendly environment they can grow and thrive in, not to exist as a punching bag for abusive governments and nitpicking spoiled unskilled workers.

Yours is an excellent point!

During WW2, The Socialist FDR Administration instituted wage and price controls on American Companies.

Companies could not raise wages, but they could increase benefits to attact workers that they wanted.

Hence, Companies started offering Medical Insurance to keep present employees, and to attract new employees.

Now our Socialized Society considers it a “right” for an employee, and their dependents to have part or all of their medical insurance paid for by the company that they work for.

So much for the millstone burden of a bad WW2 edict from FDR.

One great thing that could come out of the total collapse of CommieObamaCare is that ONLY the citizen is responsible for any insurance product that they choose to buy.

Thus, allowing Companies to lower the price of their goods and services to the customers by the amount that they had been paying for insurance for their employees, and their dependents.

____________

In similar manner, the Socialist Labor Union Movement in the late 1800’s, and the Socialized FDR Wage Controls of WW2 have produced the relics of Minimum Wage Control and Governmental Labor rules that shackle the productivity of our Society.

Ronald Reagan was fond of saying “Businesses do not pay taxes, because consumers pay all the taxes.”

A business forced by an oppressive Government to pay a higher minimum wage to their workers will simply pass that additional expense on to the consumer in the form of higher prices.
_______________________

None of the above will make any sense to the true believers in the Obama Plantation, headquartered at 1600 Plantation Aveneue, Washington, District of Corruption.

BTW, is there any truth to the rumor that the Potomac River will soon have its name changed to De Nile River?

I am part of that number kinda by choice.

Working for cash and doing odd jobs.

Grow my own meat and greens

Bartering and trading for goods.

Doing quite well being out of the banking system and into the silver and gold as hedge.

We have to deny the beast the food it runs on.....our money and labor. WE must starve the beast.

Elections will not fix the problem.....executions will.

Well then, let’s get that Amnesty passed!! /s

Heck why not? The US Government is kicking out German homeschoolers and wanting to import third worlders with TB! Talk about Alice in Wonderland!

This country will be Haiti in about two more years. It's ok because with more illegals that guarantees Hillary will be President and then instead of Haiti the US will be Uganda!!!

When your children asked what happened to the USA, tell them there is a man named George Soros who orchestrated destruction from his days working for Nazi Germany (despite being Jewish), nearly destroying the British economy and ultimately taking out the USA.

What Hitler dreamed of, George Soros simply followed...

Soros may be the straw that broke...but he is by far not the harbinger you portray.

You wish to place blame, blame the Citizens that allow SSI, Income Tax, the Fed, etc. that allowed DoE, EPA, Medicare, NCLB, TSA, NSA, etc.

It was our own (grand+) parents that started the cancer upon our Constitution. One cannot blame outside sources taking advantage of situations that have metastasized over the years. Just look at our current low-info voter. What do they care about Unconstitutional, when the theft of their neighbor = $$ in their hands?!

Well you are correct in the fact that it was greedy fools who voted for Obama twice simply to keep getting that government check. But I also believe voter fraud played a gigantic goal as well as the fact that we had a RINO in 2012. I don't think anyone could have beaten him in 2008 due to the media coronation that occurred.

However, the US can't simply keep printing money. Eventually, China will call in the debt, country becomes the Weimar Republic II. It was the wheelbarrows of money for a loaf of bread that lead to the rise of Adolf Hitler. History always repeats itself. The Democrats can keep funding food stamps and EBT as well as all their other handouts until inflation goes 10,000% and all our debt is called in. Then the entire nation collapses. Mass riots by the welfare class leading to the Second American Civil War. The welfare class vs. those who work.

My sentiments exactly. I get so tired of hearing that “w” word used all the time when discussing anyone who works for someone else.

Worker is a word of the collectivist mindset in my opinion.

Oh, I’m SURE there is voter fraud; but I’ve seen nothing from anyone to try to fight the same. Here, I get the ‘joy’ of hearing Corrine Brown pontificate on extending ‘early voter’ and the like...Makes me ill. Unfortunately, a voter roll wipe (every Census??) would get tied up in the courts (as does even trying to filter out the dead/etc.).

Now, RE: $$, you’re preaching to the choir. I’m a strong supporter of returning to the Gold Standard and true currency; no the fiat currently in my pocket (but not the Silver Eagles stashed in the floorboards).

Unfortunately, we are as far from a Republic as when the DoI was written, but few wish to acknowledge what their eyes can see.

No it’s not that they were lost..it’s just like those that got kicked off of their health plans, according to the P-os-OTUS this happens all the time. So those that lost jobs was just a normal correction in the number of those that should have a job!! SIMPLE see??!!!
