Nightline Lets Democrats Open Fire on Christie, Touts 'Alleged Abusive Behavior'

ABC's Nightline let New Jersey Democrats pile on the Chris Christie controversy and take shots at the Republican governor, on Friday's show. Anchor Dan Harris hyped the nasty gossip and asked if Christie's political future was over.

"Democrats in Trenton, the state capitol, clearly see an opening," Harris touted. He added that "Democrats, including Christie's former opponent, Senator Barbara Buono regaled us with stories about the governor's alleged abusive behavior." [Video coming soon. Audio here.]

Harris also spoke with Democratic state senator Richard Codey and quoted Fort Lee's Democratic mayor Mark Sokolich, both of whom blasted Christie. Harris teed up Codey by asking if Gov. Christie was right in saying he wasn't a bully. Codey responded, "He is a bully. Simple as that. If you disagree with him, he's going to get you and he's going to stamp you out and he's going to seek revenge."

Buono was Christie's Democratic opponent in November's election, and Harris gave her the opportunity to cut down Christie. "She says one time after she publicly criticized him several years ago, she was never allowed into a meeting with him again, even though she was the senate majority leader."

Harris even borrowed a juicy Christie story from the 2012 election memoir "Double Down":

Times are interesting right now, that’s for sure.

Ordinarily, the Democrats and their lapdog media would be pumping Christie up for the GOP nomination and only start to trash him once he gets it.

However, with the situation on ObamaCare being so damning, and the real indicators with the economy (the ones that really matter) being so bad, the HAVE to do something that will have legs and get everyone’s minds off how screwed we all are.

Christie is it. It’s his turn in the barrel.

Well, I’m not one of them. I am actually glad that the Democrats and Media are taking this fata$$ out of the picture. The Tea Party and conservatives won’t have to spend money to keep him off the slate.

You got it. It is a political attack on all Republicans.

From the emails I have read so far, no Bridge lanes were shutdown.

It appears that three bridge lanes re reallocated from local access traffic to thru traffic.

I'm with both of you. It's fantastic that the media and the dems are taking down Christie for us.

Keep in mind that the RNC gave money to Christie's campaign to boost his numbers in an assured win, and starved Cuccinelli's which might've won with that financial support.

I'm all for anything that opens the road to the nomination for TedCruz and those who stand by him.
