"I think this world would be better off having more young women holding a fish in a picture than holding their camera in front of a bathroom mirror, talking a selfie," the former governor tells a crowd of reporters, plugging her new Sportsman Channel series.
Sarah Palin held court at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Friday morning, marking her first official appearance at the event where she once turned heads when she stopped by a 2012 NBC mixer.
The former Alaska governor, most recently in the headlines for her defense of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson, is on the promotional trail for her latest bid for a TV gig that sticks: the Sportsman Channel's upcoming Amazing America With Sarah Palin. The unscripted anthology will explore the lives of outdoors-loving Americans, much like the Palins themselves.
"You know how much I love critics and the media," said Palin. "So a room full of television critics, I can't beat this combination for pleasure."
Lifted by her star-spangled pumps, Palin did seem genuinely pleased to speak with the crowd -- so much so, she offered to host the entire room should anyone make the trip up to her noncontinuous home state.
"I want you to come up there," she said. "That is the way that you can connect. So much of Alaska is what America used to be with a pioneering spirit. ... What our show is going to do is highlight the people, places and things that embody that American experience."
(Snowmobiling and "moose chili in the crock pot" are both on the itinerary for anyone willing to make the trek.)
Though the Sportsman Channel naturally skews male, Palin did say she was very interested in reaching female viewers with the show, who she said she thinks are underrepresented in sporting content.
"I think this world would be better off having more young women holding a fish in a picture than holding their camera in front of a bathroom mirror, talking a selfie," she said.
Palin wrapped her speech with what seemed to be a dig at her 2010 TLC reality series, Sarah Palin's Alaska. "I'm more excited about this project than many of the other projects I've done in the past," she said, receiving a round of laughter.
LOL, that's it.
Ping.
I really want to see Sarah’s show but I dont believe that Time Warner Cable carries it :(
I’d love to see Sarah drop effete pseudointellectual Northeastern Leftist Regressives and limpwristed D.C. elites into the middle of the Alaska Wilderness, where they can see if they can negotiate their way out. Over/under on them turning into Grizzly Bear poop= 2-4 hours (24 seconds to eat them, the rest of the time to digest them).

depends on the fish ;-)
Thank you so much!
They could do a Congressional and Media Survivor season up there. Could be interesting. lol
When does this new show start?
I see the author couldn't resist a bit of snark.

IIRC, the producers of Sarah Palin's Alaska wanted her back for another season. She opted to campaign for the tea party.
My girl crush just grows and grows
Women have needed a heroine to lead and inspire them ..
So many women work now that it is the norm and wont be changed any time soon..
we have Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and Governor Sarah Palin..
staying home is a luxury that the ordinary woman cant do any more..
as the song from Les Miserables goes,, “There are children at home and children have got to be fed”
Sarah is not out of touch with the women of today...
If Sarah Palin made inroads within the black female population it would be game over.
They attack her 24/7/365. Why do you think that is? Are they still attacking Dan Quayle? Do they pile on to Paul Ryan (who is still in the government!) or did they do this to Jack Kemp? Of course not! There’s a reason they feel they must destroy her and it’s not because she’s “stupid” or her accent.
Sarah knows how to turn a phrase, doesn’t she?
If Sarah had the opportunity to connect with black women; no all blacks, women, men, the whole black community - that they have been enslaved and kept on the plantation by the democratic party, and deliberately so, only to get their vote - a la Cloward-Piven - if she can somehow really explain this in lay terms with factual data and events. . Now That would be the game changer.
I thinks the facts and data are there. The race hustling, the reverse racism, the class warfare, the intended Cloward-Piven welfare collapse of the system, the drug epidemic, abortion. . . kids being taught to always blame whitey, etc. . volumes of data. . It will just take someone to really articulate it. . to really preach it with examples. . have people that have escaped the plantation on her show. . maybe a whole separate series. . interviews. . and make them really feel, in their heart, really connect . . themselves and with the audience, how used and manipulated they have been, especially since the 60s. .
Teach them where jobs come from. . basics about capitalism, basics about excess taxation and regulation choking business and thus no jobs, how great America really is at its core, how we're all lucky to live in this great country. . our mutual connection with religion, love and family life. . let them feel some anger about being manipulated and used and then, . . I think 'we shall overcome' if we can really connect with that message.
Conservatives and blacks have a lot in common. . more than we both know.
Sorry for the ramble. . Just got off work and tuckered. . I really think Sarah could do this if given the chance.
I’m black and I think the world of Sarah. I will talk to anyone who is willing to listen and consider what I say about her and our Tea Party movement. Some people are noisy parrots for the left, not yet ready to close their ‘blitzen’ mouths and open their minds to other perspectives. Maybe next year, they will be, after strong, repeated doses of ObamaCare toxins and stupidities. I don’t spend too much time on the Happily Numb Zombies. It’d be like spinning my wheels in quicksand, with only me getting dirty.
And yes, after next year and more pain from Obamacare and other Marxist stupidities that really affect people, maybe then they will be open to seeing our message of truth.
