Representative Goodlatte said in a Telemundo interview that is set to air on Sunday that he is very open to legalizing current illegal immigrants:

If we can have a way to get [enforcement] up and operating, I see no reason why we can’t also have an agreement that shows how people who are not lawfully here can be able to be lawfully here – able to live here, work here, travel to and from their home country, be able to own a business, pay their taxes.

Create a new class of immigrant called “permanent guest worker”, issue a new ID card that is red in color, and state in the law that red card holders cannot become eligible for U.S. Citizenship.

The only reason Democrats are pushing for amnesty is to create more Democratic voters. If you short circuit the process by granting residency but barring citizenship, you cut them off at the knees.

HERE'S THE LATEST THIRD WORLD AGIT-PROP----illegals are the salt of the earth. Really superior to us ordinary Americans. In fact, a prime example of superior ability to make the world a better place is b/c Mexico is such a g-r-e-a-t country...not to mention the Third World paradises they escaped from.

Course if latinos who are mowing our lawns and flipping our hamburgers----and cashing multiple govt checks per identity----do, in fact, retain such special powers why not deport them back to their homelands to use their superior powers to civilize the decrepit Third World?

When the law means nothing, what do traitors think will happen to them?

Agreed, we have to have our fellow brothers and sisters turn their eyes back to Jesus.

Agreed about the primaries. For events of such consequence they see a surprisingly low turnout, even among “conservatives” that really ought to know better!

May I suggest a different methodology for looking for strong horses for primaries, to put a big effort behind, and it’s not like the world thinks.

I saw a useful illustration just the other night. I won’t name the freeper, but he wanted to see a stark hero, in black and white contrast. And fooey on anyone else.

I actually agree but with a twist on it. Look not for the politician who projects a worldly glamor image (not everyone can be a movie cowboy, which was part of Ronald Reagan’s fortuitous appeal as he yeehawed onto the country’s stage with an optimism that Jimmy Carter’s malaise was tailor made to be a foil to).

Look for the politician who has done something of personal consequence on account of God. Even if it seems partly misguided. In that light, with 20/20 hindsight, if I could get into a time machine and wasn’t hobbled by pesky reality’s need to be self consistent, I’d be hollering in 2012 for primary support for either Newt Gingrich or Michelle Bachmann, if Sarah Palin would not step in. Yes, Newt was a womanizer who even flirted with Nancy Pelosi and some of her batty ideas. And yes, Michelle Bachmann had problems with recurrent migraines (as best I recall). But with their respective faiths, they could have now been serving as dynamite presidents, with the dynamite being their God, not their worldly personas. Womanizers? How about King Solomon? Or frequently ill? How about Timothy in the early church? Trials and even failures can be for the good as well as the ill, depending on one’s viewpoint upon the divine.

Fatalism never got us anywhere, and Ronald Reagan himself should be an example of that.

We may not be worthy of a Reagan in God’s eyes now. And only we can change that.

[Look for the politician who has done something of personal consequence on account of God.]

And it might even be ironically for the best that Obama was full of hate, if that hate was on account of what he thought God to be. (”God damn America” anyone?) Because the God that chastens, then will later bless. It is a biblical constant. America courted damnation and the worst sin was not even sexual shenanigans. It was in losing the optimism of God. “The joy of the Lord is your strength” is NOT woofing. It is a fundamental heavenly secret, and the only reason it’s a secret is because WE have been grim sinners saying no, no, no to God’s joy! We have pity parties! We damn the world to hell, the same world that God is currently striving to save! We get snooty and say that everyone should look outwardly like we do! No wonder God has headaches in heaven, and so do we on earth.

"Just where does this idiot think they’re going to find jobs?"

Very good point! The illegals "do the work Americans won't do" now because that is the only way to stay alive in most cases. But what will happen when they are given the ability to sit jobless on welfare and make more money than a low-education job can provide? They will take the welfare route for sure.

Many of them still have some sense of honor left, ironically (sending money back to Mexico is a big business).

OK, let me “ramble” on some more. I just submit it for consideration.

I have to be honest about a lot of liberals. They want for society good things that only Christ can provide, but they are trying to do it without a faith in Christ. (Booing God is not exactly the best way of entreating Him for blessings, after all.) And they come up with humongous do-gooding schemes, like Obamacare, to try to do what they think God ought to be doing. The fix is simpler than we might want to let on. Put our faith back in Christ again, and we will get not only the blessing but the assurance that the blessing is there to help us whenever we purpose to glorify God in what we do. God is gracious. It is we who are being the clownish snots and pounding on the world’s door demanding for blessings that He freely offers from His throne.

We need a "Billy Graham" to run in 2016!

That would be a very sweet thing; however I mainly want to urge people to refocus on the heavenly. The fact that a prospective player for the advancement of His blessings had a checkered past is not a big burden to God. In fact, God specializes in hard cases... just to prove that yes, He is God! Look for someone who has recently done something where a positive motivation for God has made a difference. It does not need to be huge as the world sees it, e.g. Billy Graham with his gospel crusades. Newt Gingrich switched churches because he felt, wrongly or rightly, the Catholic church had a connection to God that was special. Michelle Bachmann and her husband do Christian ministry to homosexual sinners attempting to beat that lifestyle.

I’d even desire Barack Obama’s genuine salvation, if he would permit it. If that occurred, we would see a scene not unlike the denouement of The Grinch That Stole Christmas. I do not “kid” to use childlike metaphor. Would that more of us were children at heart, the kind who will readily go into the kingdom of heaven, not having built up huge worldly kingdoms of our own that can’t go through that proverbial needle’s eye.

HiTech,
I supported and voted for Newt in the primaries, and for the very reason you spoke about..... he may have his faults which I detested, but he is a dynamic person who I felt God could use for the nation’s benefit.

But the hard fact is that we will never get enough conservatives to think that way. Better we have a “Billy Graham” person..... unabashedly God-fearing, clean enough past that the libs can’t find a skeleton in the closet that irritates too many people, family person, dynamic personality that is likeable no matter what political persuasion you are (of course the hard core libs will hate him/her, but the regular Joes will have no reason to hate, and most importantly someone with real faith and the Holy Spirit for real guidance.

Any Amnesty will create intense hatred.

That’s near ideal, I agree.

Cruz could be it. So could Sarah Palin if the good Lord nudges her back into the ring.

America wants some semblance of spirituality. It is not ready for dull dreary seculardom yet. It would rather elect a hater (Obama) than a mush (McCain, Romney).

But I don’t despair as easily as you might about selling God. We have a plethora of new media, how about using it. Email everyone and their uncle and aunt with links to Youtube videos if nothing more. It’s waiting to be used for gospel. If the checkered with God nonetheless a meaningful factor to them are the only ones to step up, then promote them based on just that. Enough repetitions and the sense will sink in.

[But I don’t despair as easily as you might about selling God.]

In a nutshell it’s due to God’s own promise. Seek sincerely for what glorifies Him (including favorable notice in society) and He will gladly grant you the resources for it.

“Bootstrap” off of the promises of God. That will get you heavenward quicker than you might think. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

“This is Rat country, four say, the next 50 years or more.”

If that’s true, then you need to explain how and why conservatives and patriots control 28 states while rats control only 11. In the past 30 years, we have seen a massive movement of families out of liberal cities and into exurbia. Liberal cities are dying across the US. They are unsustainable population-wise because the number of children is falling. In Seattle, for example, there are more dogs than children.

The best that the liberals can hope for is packing their dying cities with illegals. What we’re seeing is a situation where dysfunctional, crumbling cities will be surrounded by populations that are hostile to their Marxist intentions.

Cheers, buddy.
