When the Legislature opened on Wednesday, Senate GOP leaders said passing a gun rights bill was a top priority for the legislative session. Like last year's bill, the new version would also reduce the age requirement for concealed carry permits from 21 to 19 and prohibit municipalities from passing ordinances to limit openly carrying a firearm.
Many Missouri Democrats are likely to oppose the measure again this year as an unconstitutional waste of the Legislature's time.
"The state will never trump federal laws," said Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, a St. Louis Democrat. "It is again another right wing Republican attempt to go Second Amendment crazy."

I think one of the better strategies for the state legislature would be to pass enabling laws to recognize the posse comitatus authority of county Sheriffs. Basically a way for Sheriffs to have a “one way” ability to increase gun liberty in their county, but not to limit it.
That is, a Sheriff could decide to require all legal adults in his county to have a gun and ammo (without penalty if they didn’t), so that *if necessary*, he could issue a “hue and cry” order to form a posse of volunteers for emergency purposes.
From that point, for the federals to enforce gun confiscation against the citizenry, they would have to confiscate the gun of every LEO in the state, because the citizens of that county would be recognized as lawmen-posse members.
I certainly hope so. We need many more of those "attempts" in every facet of government to restore sanity.
