Superficially, a poll that has McConnell leading Matt Bevin 53% to 31% looks good for Mitch McConnell. In fact, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has tweeted out the link to the poll as good news for Mitch McConnell.
But this past summer there was a 50 point gap in the race. Yeah FIFTY.
Actually, Bevin was down 52 points last summer. So FIFTY-TWO.
By December, according to PPP, Bevin was down 27 points.
Now hes down 22 points. Certainly it is a different polling company, etc., but objectively hes closed a pretty significant gap.
More importantly, conservatives are only just now starting to turn full focus to the primaries. Kentucky may have one before June, but there is still time for conservatives to rally to Matt Bevin.
Do what you can. McConnells negatives are already so high, Bevin needs to boost his name ID to win. Thats very possible with your help.

Rubio closed a bigger gap on Charlie Crist. This is a big hill to climb, but it can be done.

Why would they be siding with anyone in a primary?
I know, I know, they always do. Just pointing out the obvious.
Joe Miller, TEA, who beat Lisa Murkowski in AK’s primary senate race in ‘10, lost in the general after Cornyn had Lisa run Independent and fraudulently sweep up all the eskimo votes, is how the NNRSC sides with candidates.
I expect Cornyn to run indy when he loses the R nomination in the May run-off.
Texas has a sore loser statute. You lose the primary, and you can’t run as an independent later.

ALL states should have this law.
WHAT: Town Hall with Matt Bevin
WHEN: Thursday, January 16, 2014, at 6 p.m. EST
WHERE: La Carreta Mexican Restaurant
10105 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272
I did not know that! Maybe that’s why Dewhurst didn’t try it after Cruz beat him?
Wonder why Meghan Kelly had Mummy McConnell on the show the other night? To give him a boost??
Just askin’.
Real good question.
The turd-le is toast.
About 50 is not good.
I dont think Rand Paul will help him that much. Rand has pissed off the base with his support of Boehner’s legalization. He pretty much implied that on ABC.
It is not like comparing Cornyn and Cruz popularity in Texas.
DO NOT FORGET: McConnell will have to be taken out in the Primary. Most of those people polled are going on name recognition only and they will NOT be voting in the Primary anyhow. Only the die-hards, and old people, vote in the Primary. Ted Cruz was not even a blimp on the radar screen at this point in time in his U.S. Senate campaign against a well entrenched, well funded, well known Lt. Governor. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad.
