They had no imaginable reason to apologize, K’s proposals were totally irrational, unworkable, and destructive. (And insulting).
I was one that thought K would grow into the job.
I have to admit I was wrong.

The Israeli’s know exactly the kind of PR damage this does to the administration in the House and Senate.
The forced apology is almost worse than the insult.
He can apologize all he wants but truth is truth. Kerry is not accumulating all those frequent flier miles and photo ops for nothing. He still desperately wants to be President and figures that Hilary in the end may not run due to her fatal flaws. However Kerry is not accomplishing anything significant and appears to be in a perpetual jet lagged haze.

He is right for apologizing; “obsessive and messianic” rightfully belong to Kerry’s boss, not he himself.
