I wasn't eager about seeing "Lone Survivor," the new hit film about four U.S. Navy SEALs forced to fight a terrible and heroic battle of impossible odds against the Taliban in Afghanistan.
What worried me was that it would turn out to be a typical Hollywood war movie, with archetypal characters (the city kid, the cynic, the country boy, etc.) and some kind of big speech at the climax.

After watching Lone Survivor, I can see why the Hellfire missile approach to lighting up al Qaeda types might have some appeal.
Anyone who can watch that movie, and NOT shed a tear? Is one cold-hearted person.
No one in my theater could.
When I cam home, walked in the house... my wife looked at me and immediately said, “What’s wrong?” I wasn’t crying (anymore)... but, it’s hard to walk out of that movie, and just go resume your normal life.
Lord help me, I don’t know how people LIVING that life can come back.

Did you?
How about starting by keeping the promises made regarding deferred compensation?
Lots of sniffing and eye wiping in the theater when I went, me included. Seeing those pictures at the end was rough. especially the guy looking at his newborn baby.
hashed and fried, no sympathy here.
I have no idea what that means.
how about shakes and bakes? Only good terrorist is a dead one
With the well-known causalities and one survivor, I do not understand the concern this movie might be (or is) a Hollywood glamour-war stunt.
If the subject matter involved parading homosexuals, the critics couldn’t dispense their glowing reviews soon enough.
Did you?
I did.. and, emailed. Hugh's scolding of Ryan was playing on my car radio when I came out of the movie last night. I was so angry, I could hardly drive.
It should make people debilitatingly angry, but it passed today.
Nary a word on Hannity’s show, as good as he is.
People don’t care.
Got to hear Hugh.
