Movie producer Harvey Weinstein announced for the first time on Howard Stern’s radio show that he is making a full feature drama to try to destroy the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Stern asked Mr. Weinstein on Wednesday whether he owned a gun. The Hollywood heavyweight replied that he did not and never would. “I don’t think we need guns in this country. And I hate it,” the producer said. “I think the NRA is a disaster area.”
... then revealed his secret project about the gun rights group. “I shouldn’t say this, but I’ll tell it to you, Howard,” he said. “I’m going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we’re going to take this head-on. And they’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”
The shock jock asked whether the film was going to be a documentary. Mr. Weinstein said no, that it would be a “big movie like a ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.’”
The movie mogul said his vision was to scare people away from firearms. He foresees moviegoers to leave thinking, “Gun stocks — I don’t want to be involved in that stuff. It’s going to be like crash and burn.”

I wonder if Weinstein understands the difference between “gun stocks” and “stocks in gun companies”?
Pour billions into this project you pos... Get that washed up *#} catcher to invest her wealth. It will be the lowest attended movie in the history of holly weird and the end of people wanting to work with you!
perhaps the NRA will recognize this announcement as a golden opportunity to prepare an appropriate PSA to release simultaneous to the release of Weinstein/Streep’s ads for this movie by revealing - through photo/video documentation and personal identity of each of the people involved in this film - exactly how “courageous” anti-NRA/anti-2A hypocrites $upport “guns-for-hire” to protect themselves and what they personally protect from their ideological redistributionists.
They have a pretty high opinion of the value of their opinion to others.
I hate Robin Williams too. He’s just as clueless.
“Whinestein” and Streep are the latest Hollywood version of Laurel and Hardy, their time has past.
Maybe we could do a FReepathon for that?
If Hollyweird is so worried about guns, they should set a good example for the country by banning guns and images of guns from their own productions.
I won’t hold my breath waiting for that to happen, though.
Except it’ll be a big bomb since Streep’s last movie was a big bomb and she’s never been a major attraction for audiences. She’s a prestige actress not a popular star.
And as a NRA member (although I don’t own a gun), I’m gonna be happy to be alive after this movie is released and crashes and burns.
Of course, paradoxically, if Mr. Weinstein decides to make the movie a total bloodbath on the level of “I Spit on Your Grave,” or “Pulp Fiction,” he might get a hit.

Also, it’s hard for a half million people being marched into Auschwitz to pick up guns if those guns were confiscated by the state years before.
This movie will be overhyped and promoted. But just like all those stupid anti Iraq/Afghanistan/WOT flicks that were designed to make partisan political statements, it’s destined to fail. There’s a reason why movies like Lone Survivor are successful, and it’s not because they contain Leftist social and political commentary ...
Find out the release date, then buy stock in Smith & Wesson, Beretta, Glock, Remington, etc the day before. You’ll make a ... killing.
