Technology companies have grown more aware of the tensions. They recently reached an agreement with the city of San Francisco governing the use of municipal bus stops. Google recently began to experiment with a privately chartered boat that can transport some of its employees living in San Francisco to its offices.

If you’re not thinking that we’ve become a two-tiered society, you don’t live in Silicon Valley.

How dare they! That isn’t FAIR...How come the rest of the San Fran people don’t get security guards! And those high paying jobs are forcing rents to go higher (not the rent control distortion mind you)...

High costs are nothing new. When I was there in about 1985 costs in the Marina District for a one bedroom condo were around 1Mil.

Oh the income inequality! The only solution is to take money from brilliant software developers and give it, tax free, to pot smokers.

“Does they have them there guns?”

Around here you can have a uniformed law enforcement officer with a gun and arrest powers for (at last check, which was two years ago, I think) $60/hr.

Why should anyone care? Google can move their staff however the hell they want.

I thought the left wanted people to use mass-transit? Or was it more that they wanted people to use GOVERNMENT mass-transit.

Are you saying Google employees have been snatched by the body snatchers?

You may be crazy...but this time I think you are correct.

Google and America are controlled by "tall white aliens."

BTW, how tall was George W Bush?
