This is all show. So many Federal contracts have “prevailing wage” clauses (read: union wages) that a minimum wage boost is irrelevant for these companies.

I’m going to give credit where it is due - at least Obama is TRYING to achieve his agenda. The GOP, on the other hand, merely whimpers and tries to appease the democrats. What would happen if Boner tried as hard to get a conservative agenda done as Obama and Reid do for THEIR side?

What few people know is that many union contracts are calculated as a percentage against the minimum wage. That is why they push the minimum wage issue so much. A slight increase in minimum wage equates to a large increase in union member salaries.

O’. you don’t have the authority to do that.

This is intended to drive the final nails into the coffins of small businesses.
The big-government/big-corporate criminal complex doesn't like competition.
They don't care if the pie gets smaller, they just want the whole pie.
As a matter of fact a smaller pie is better because it means the peasants will be starved out, leaving the ruling class to live in a Walden paradise.

Federal contractors are covered by Davis-Bacon aren’t they?
Those wages are far greater than minimum wage.

All he will do is raise the price of everything if he approves it. I doubt he will because that group doesn’t send him donations and will piss of corporate donors everywhere.

I guess that means the next potus could simply set the minimum wage back using her executive authority.

Germany doesn't even have a minimum wage. It's crazy enough to pay $7.25 an hour to for the "privilege" to teach someone who doesn't know anything how to do perform a job. (A group with historical high unemployment.) It's crazier (and even less likely) to pay them $10.10. Watch unemployment among Obama voters soar!

Many public union pay is tied into the prevailing minimum wage. So if it goes up say three bucks an hour, for public union employees, their pay would go up too. It has nothing to do to help Burger workers, only his union buddies.
