It is known as the City of Sin, so it is perhaps no surprise to find that the porn industry is moving to Las Vegas after LA passed a law requiring performers to use condoms. As the industry struggles to survive in an age of free websites and amateur videos uploaded to the internet, producers looking to cut costs are also attracted by the cheap hotels, mansions and warehouses to use for their films. In a worrying development, many adult film makers are also using the move as a way to get around stringent health checks imposed in LA, including a law requiring all male performers to wear condoms, brought in after several actors tested positive for HIV.

“Boogie Nights” was a good film that captured the atmosphere in LA during the heyday of the video tape porn era.
I remember back in the late 70’s/early 80’s when porn was deplored by feminists as, among other things, degrading to women.

My first thought at the reading of this was, I wonder if this will cut porn industry campaign contributions to (at least) California Rats.
99% of porn today is filmed in a motel room with a cheap camcorder. The "talent" answers a want-ad, arrives with 2 forms of ID, goes to work, gets paid in cash and the scene is uploaded to a website an hour later.
The only thing California's condom law did was drive the final nail into the coffin of high-production porn.
Title should be Lust In The Dust.
Where will they find women in Las Vegas for this kind of work?....
Some day the sex police will storm into bedrooms to make sure that private citizens are using condoms.
Maybe Harry Reid knows.
Isn't Nevada a tax free state? I wonder if this is more about the Benjamin$ than the laws, it maybe all about the margins...
There was always that difference between the states but the evidence indicates this move has been driven by the LA law.
I can kind of relate to some of that except that I use decent equipment and cameras.
