MAKHACHKALA, October 19 (RIA Novosti) The president of the restive southern Russian republic of Dagestan said Friday that punitive measures should be introduced for parents of minors taking part in extremist militant organizations.
Ramazan Abdulatipovs press office cited him as saying that young people are being conditioned into hatred for other peoples.
Abdulatipov was speaking in the capital of Dagestan, Makhachkala, at the Congress of Russian Peoples, a forum for discussing relations between Russias numerous ethnic groups.
A draft bill on the proposal put forward by Abdulatipov is to be presented by the Congress of Russian Peoples to the State Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament.

Russians were never near behind sunni terrorists attacking the west in the last decades.
They are simply longer in business and somehow more experienced.
They had their Carter moment with Tehran embassy raided and ambassador killed too, but it was in earlier 19th century.
Russian approach to muslim issues were shaped about that time, long before any political correctness, humanitarianism and collateral damage terms were invented.
I wonder if he will also insist that parents get handcuffed by being threatened with abuse charges if they punish their kids - works so great here...
Mostly I meant that the Russian know how to deal with cunning, murderous brutes, having previously manipulated and used them against the West.
The Russians are smart enough to not worry about whether or not these people, and those they claim to represent, like them; instead they just make sure these people develop an abject terror of them. That is an example I think we should follow.
I have seen collective punishment work remarkably well.
Also I refuse to listen to arguments from American leftist Democrats against it, they have to quit legal persecution of families and supporters of conservatives that exercise their Constitutional rights before I'll listen to anything they say.
