As long as it’s only the taxpayers on the hook for paying for their crimes in the unlikely event that there’s even a conviction, things will never change. The police officers, the city employees, and the unions have absolutely none of their own skin in the game.

If the penalties came out of Officer Rabid’s own pocket, he might be a little more circumspect.

If the department’s retirement fund had to pay them, the whole department might be inclined to make sure Officer O’Roidrage worked elsewhere, rather than form a protective blue wall around him at each of his ever increasingly violent interactions with the public.

Yup. You where honest about what you would do in a given circumstance.

Clearly, you must be punished...

FROM YOUR LINKED STORY:

Nelson admits there was a verbal confrontation at the bus stop before she boarded the bus.

“The guy was scaring me the way he was looking at me,” Nelson said. “I didn’t touch him though. I know better than to touch people.”

Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said the woman has four prior convictions for assaulting police officers.
*****************************************************************

The last sentence of the above extract said she had “four prior conviction for assaulting police officers”.

I suspect that if not for the veteran’s cell phone video of the incident, she’d have gone down for the 5th conviction for assaulting a police officer. That poor officer’s elbow must have been in terrible pain following the woman’s violent assault on it with her face! Maybe he’ll file for a 75% disability retirement due to his constant pain from that violent outburst by the woman.

Sissy. They need to be killed right in front of their families who are also killed, right after killing their dogs. Our cops are far too precious for society to tolerate the slightest disrespect.

As I learned, “assaulting a police officer” has nearly a 100% conviction rate where I reside.

That is due to the oft-used prosecutorial tactic that informs a jury that police officers never lie, and that their word is higher and more valuable than the rabble that they arrest.

Given what I’ve learned, the charge of “assaulting a police officer’ is a surefire charge to ensure that there is not only a conviction, but that any wrongdoing by the thugs wearing a badge is given adequate cover.

It is becoming as automatic a charge as is ‘resisting arrest’ which happens at an officer’s discretion. Most often, screamed at the subject AFTER they are handcuffed and thrashed around - so the jury can hear it as part of the audio ‘evidence’ from the mics the cops wear. Minus of course the parts of the audio whereby ‘peace officers’ are not exactly peaceable.

Indeed. It is vital they all get home safely at the end of their shifts.

You bet.
I’d vote not guilty almost any accused.

Good luck in the outcome of your case. That sounds like complete BS.

Any help from the ACLU or anyone similar?

Thanks. You did make me laugh.

We’re not the right color or persuasion to warrant their willingness to assist our case. We’re going to try and get through one hurdle first before trying to figure out the third one.

The first hurdle being the judge in the case and what he allows the jury to hear, and the second hurdle being what the jury itself decides.

My kids have a better chance than most I am told: 50/50. Sometimes evidence does not matter to a jury. Sometimes clothing and hairstyles make all the difference. A reflection of how horrifyingly stupid our society has devolved.

I have dealt with GOOD cops (McKinney and Frisco, TX). Would take a bullet for one.

Have dealt with thugcops (LA area). Would not cross the street to pizz on one if he/she/it was one fire.

So to your point: Yes, far too many cops have become jackbooted thugs. And they can GTH.

Oh, and Prosper, TX — probably the best of the lot, although McKiney is close.

You know, we Conservatives used to make a point against the Liberal Appeasement Surrender Monkeys who spent such efforts to apologize for Muslims and the tenet of Jihad that their entire faith shares.

Their argument was that we cannot condemn an entire faith for the actions of a “tiny minority”. Our answer has been that the silence of “moderate Muslims” is deafening, and that such silence is seen as approval by those of us in the West who see the rising tide of Islamic barbarism growing under the silence of the ‘moderate’ Muslims. (I personally believe there is no such thing as a ‘moderate Muslim’). They are either devout to their faith or they are not.

I submit to you that I now believe that same argument should apply to Law Enforcement itself. The ‘Good’ cops who are silent in the face of barbaric thugs acting under the color of law. Thug cops who are being trained to act like jackbooted thugs by the federal Beast who rules from D.C. no less.

Should we argue that the institution of law enforcement is simply being hijacked by a few ‘radicals’ that are tarnishing the image of the entire institution (faith)?

Should we see the silence of the “good” or “moderate” officers out there as approval of the thug cops and their tactics upon belligerent “citizens” (infidels) out here?

Perhaps we should be asking the question: Is there such a thing as a ‘good cop’ anymore?

And yes, before anyone feigns outrage at this reply, I think the comparison is valid. The implementation of tyranny under the color of law, is still tyranny. I don’t care whether said laws are ‘religious’ or secular.

Even more so considering the threatening environment he found himself in.

Good for the vet. Takes a real man to stand up to a bad cop.

This isn’t new. I went to some cop site (Police One?) and almost all posts applauded this. I could just vomit.
