A chief element of President Barack Obama’s attempt to overhaul U.S. surveillance will not work, leaders of Congress’ intelligence committees said Sunday, pushing back against the idea that the government should cede control of how Americans’ phone records are stored.

Obama, under pressure to calm the controversy over government spying, said Friday he wants bulk phone data stored outside the government to reduce the risk that the records will be abused. The president said he will require a special judge’s advance approval before intelligence agencies can examine someone’s data and will force analysts to keep their searches closer to suspected terrorists or organizations. …

Valerie Jarrett may have a better idea — or maybe Michelle knows of some way to improve U.S. surveillance policies... Naturally, Obama will be shocked to read about this criticism — I bet he was not even aware the idea had been put forward until he learned it would not work.

Face on forehead in shape of a capital “L”... LIAR!

This 0bama has lied so many times about major, major things that I can’t list them all. Some recent lies include the IRS targeting, the Benghazi attack, the “you can keep your health plan if you like it, period”, and “you can keep your doctor if you like your doctor”.

And he expects non-believers to believe him? LOL.

you know, when I hear or read that he’s made a “major policy speech/announcement” I realize that nobody much listens to him anymore anyway - except the kool-aid drinkers.

He’s gone.

Obama argues for full-on data collection, and says that the government being in possession of your communications is -NOT- spying. It isn't "spying" until somebody looks at it.

Conduct your business accordingly.

I share some kind of gospel on line as much as possible. Then maybe spies will be saved.

I am sure one of the outside contractors who donated to Obama will be awarded the contract right? And Obama and Dem’t won’t request on the sly any info contained in those records right?

Really wondering who the outside contractor will be....

Shades of years past. Remember when the Left cried and whined about the Patriot Act, FISA, and Data Mining? Oops, I forgot, they were bad because they were under Bush and people like Obama were dead set against giving this government so much access to Americans privacy. Flash forward to today.
