Even more of a contrast. The first one shows his relationship to the military. The second one shows his relationship to God. Sort of like the old story about when Bush, Clinton and Hillary were summoned to the pearly gates at the end of their lives.

George goes in first and God says "tell me what you would believe qualifies you to stay here." George gives a humble bow and says "I know I made some mistakes, but I always tried my best to love my country and my fellow men." God replies "I believe you did and you were sincere. Come and sit to my right."

Next, it is Bill's turn and he is asked the same question. Bill stutters and says "I believe I'm a sinner, but eventually, I confessed, didn't I? I also felt people's pain and usually tried my best to love my country and my fellow men." God says "Bill, you are going to need a lot more work, but until I can get your extensive training scheduled, you may come and sit at my left hand.

Finally, it is Hillary's turn. Again, God asks "tell me what you would believe qualifies you to stay here." Hillary puts her hands on her hips, glowers at God and exclaims "I believe you are sitting in my seat!"

Haven’t seen the movie, but just finished reading the book, Lone Survivor.

Some of the memorable pages in the book are about the interaction between Marcus Lutrell and Bush 41 and 42. You get a feeling of the mutual respect between these Presidents and a war hero that is really heartwarming. Exactly the relationship you want to see between a CIC and a member of the military.
