Those rally’s were populated by the already converted. They failed miserably to convert independents. McCain/Palin lost by a bigger margin than Romney/Ryan.
Bzzzzt! Wrong! There were all kinds of new voters, people who’d never voted or hadn’t voted in years at those rallies. I understand a lot of folks here have a problem with strong, outspoken women, especially in positions of power and leadership, but that doesn’t excuse revisionist history. Plus, Karl Rove and many others spent almost a billion dollars helping Mitt Romney, money that wasn’t spent helping John McCain, when the economic collapse and other problems of the Bush presidency were still fresh in everybody’s minds. McCain also made the foolish decision to suspend his campaign, something Romney didn’t do. And not letting Sarah Palin go into Michigan and other states she might’ve turned, not to mention the f***-ups of Steve Schmidt and his crew....
