White House Seeks to Bypass Congress on Iran Deal, Aims to unilaterally unwind sanctions laws
The Washington Free Beacon ^ | 1/21/14 | Adam Kredo

Posted on 01/21/2014 10:20:59 AM PST by Nachum

The White House has been exploring ways to circumvent Congress and unilaterally lift sanctions on Iran once a final nuclear agreement is reached, according to sources with knowledge of White House conversations and congressional insiders familiar with its strategy.

The issue of sanctions relief has become one of the key sticking points in the Iran debate, with lawmakers pushing for increased economic penalties and the White House fighting to roll back regulations.

While many in Congress insist that only the legislative branch can legally repeal sanctions, senior White House officials have been examining strategies to skirt Congress, according to those familiar with internal conversations.

Sen. Mark Kirk (R., Ill.), who is leading the charge on new sanctions legislation, said that it is unacceptable for the White House to try to bypass Congress on such a critical global issue.

“The American people must get a say in any final nuclear agreement with Iran to ensure the mullahs never get the bomb,” Kirk told the Washington Free Beacon. “The administration cannot just ignore U.S. law and lift sanctions unilaterally.”

"He’s an evil bastard and an illegal, unconstitutional tyrant."

And *nothing* will be done about it. Nothing. As in, everyone will sit at home hoping someone else will rectify the situation. We all get what we deserve for being so passive in this country. Everyone complaining can just look at themselves in the mirror.

I think he’s living to see whether Israel can be blown off the map.

Not happening, as deemed and promised by God, Himself.

True that. Our enemies are also taking note of this. Passiveness and weakness invite aggression. Always have, always will.

No, worse, much much worse than simple potted plant.

An institute to divide up “loot” amongst them and their buddies.

We have a Dem in the WH. Congress has willingly ceded its powers to the Executive.

Israel needs to bomb Iran non-stop for six months. Every road, bridge, bunker, above and below ground technology center.

Watch Obama denounce it with an American public which has heard him time after time vow to prevent Iran from going nuclear with weaponized material.

Israel will do what he will not. The Saudis, Turks, Russians, EU, will quietly support Israel.

Isn’t one of the reasons given for the 2nd Amendment that guns are an anecdote to tyranny?

I can’t see it.

If this doesn't prod the House into impeachment hearings, nothing ever will. "We the People" will have to enforce the Constitution.

Well, what is congress going to do about it? Whine and then do nothing? Bloviate to try to stay in their seat or maybe win more seats next election cycle? I tell you that doing right doesn’t matter to these evil men running this Country. It is strictly power and money, and the Country be damned!

>>If this doesn’t prod the House into impeachment hearings, nothing ever will. “We the People” will have to enforce the Constitution.<<

First, we have to impeach Congress. They are violating their oath, they are not performing their duty and they don’t care.

The rest will take care of itself.

No it will NOT take care of itself. Replacing RINOs and dems with different RINOs and dems would change little. Those politicans were placed into those positions by voters. However a few more conservatives like Cruz would certainly help stir things up and help. We need stronger articulate candidates that can persuade mushy voters to support them.

If we impeached Congress, the next batch of candidates would clean up their act. They would be afraid of the consequences.

” If we impeached Congress, the next batch of candidates would clean up their act. They would be afraid of the consequences.”

What? There is no such thing as impeachment of Congress. Who is “we”? The congressmen are there because they were put there by voters. Take it up with the voters in each state who keep sending them back. That is the root problem
