Again...my MAIN point is republican politicians are very poor communicators. IMHO the best communicator from the current crop in news for 2016 is Rand Paul. But even he is not up to my liking. I know hundreds and hundreds of immigrants. Most are under the mis-conception that democrats will look out for them. Most are working very hard to move up the ladder.

So obviously, republicans have failed to explain the economic facts. As for abortion, it was unheard of during my upbringing in India. I grew up with a very large number of relatives since I had dozens of aunts and uncles, all very close. Never heard of a single abortion. However if it was needed due to medical reasons, I do not recall any one would be opposed to it.

As for late term abortions...I consider it murder in the first degree. It is extremely cruel, premeditated and conspiracy between the abortionist and the pregnant woman. But again, stupid comments by Akin and Mourdock types harm the issue.

It is not a misconception. The Dems are looking out for them when it comes to providing them with benefits like food stamps, Medicaid, housing, EITC, etc. Immigrants have a vested interest in keeping the welfare state going as the data I provided to you show. They fit the Dem constituency.

When Reps talk about reducing the size of government, decreasing taxes, etc. it doesn't resonate with them.

And there is a tribal aspect to all of this. The Dems have made themselves the party of minorities. They support things like affirmative action and minority business set asides that incentivizes immigrants to identify as minorities. 87% of the 1.2 million legal immigrants who enter annually are minorities as classified by the USG. An immigrant from Nigeria or Mexico or China receives these real benefits because they are minorities. It gives them a leg up over the non-Hispanic white native born. Is this a great country or what?

Since the 1965 Immigration Act, our pro-population growth immigration policies have fueled major demographic changes in a very short period of time. In 1970, non-Hispanic whites comprised 89 percent of the population; today they are 66 percent; and by 2042, they will be 50 percent. The Democrats, under the banner of multiculturalism and diversity, have forged a political coalition that depends on individuals coalescing around racial and ethnic identities rather than the issues. The continuing and increasing flow of minority immigrants, mostly poor and uneducated, provides a natural constituency for the Democrats, which see them as their principal source of political power.

Our current immigration policies are not bringing in skills we need to be competitive in the global economy. And the numbers exceed what we require. We don't need hundreds of thousands of high school dropouts each year.

In India, you cannot get an abortion beyond 20 weeks. And there are specific conditions by law that allow you to get an abortion. It is not just by request like it is in the US.

According to the Consortium on National Consensus for Medical Abortion in India, every year an average of about 11 million pregnancies are medically terminated, and 20,000 women die every year due to abortion related complications. Most abortion-related maternal deaths are attributable to illegal abortions.

Giving or taking prenatal tests, including ultrasound scanning, solely to determine the sex of the fetus was criminalized by Indian law in 1994. In 2002, the penalties were stiffened: up to three years in jail and a INR10,000 fine for the first offense and five years imprisonment and INR50,000 for the second.

They were talking mainly about pregnancy as the result of rape. Yes, they should be circumspect on how it should be discussed, but they should not back away from their principles. According to a National Journal poll, 50 percent of women support, and 43 percent oppose, a ban on abortion after 20 weeks, except in cases of rape and incest. A pro-life position on abortion can be a winning issue if communicated properly.
