Turmoil as de Blasio botches early snow
NY Post ^ | 1/22/14 | Kevin Fasick, Frank Rosario and Bruce Golding

Mayor de Blasio bungled the second winter storm of his administration when the snow hit a few hours earlier than expected Tuesday — causing a rash of car crashes and snarling traffic across the city.

The snow had stopped by Wednesday but bone-chilling temperatures remained, with the wind chill making it feel as low as 8 degrees below zero, according to the National Weather Service. The high is expected to reach 19 degrees, but at night that could drop to just 7.

All NYC public schools are open, but parents were being urged to “exercise their own judgment” when taking their children to school.

And they only got 3-4 inches of snow. It should have gone more smoothly than that. Kaiser Wilhelm’s an idiot. Reports have surfaced that he’s constantly late to meetings and his staff play cards at City Hall.

I guess people in NYC can’t really gripe too much. They voted for the stupid communist. He don’t care about the roads and stuff, he just cares about social justice, class warfare, and redistribution.

They voted for it, they own it.

Democrats will merrily destroy a city, state, country, until it gets so bad a conservative is voted in who straightens the place out.

Then when it is runnning well and profitable, the Democrats will steal it again. They are incapable of creating anything beneficial on their own.

Geez that one picture makes it look like the shopping mall scene from The Blues Brothers.

Good think he focused his efforts on banning horse drawn carriages or things would really be bad. </sarc>

I am by no means a fan of Mayor de Blasio, but it isn’t clear to me that he bungled or botched anything.

NYC had snow. There were accidents. Flights were cancelled. People were inconvenienced.

Sort of a strange article.

This kind of thing has gotten mayors fired before, sometimes with extreme distrust. Does anybody remember Jane Byrne of Chicago? She got elected in a race against Michael Bilandic, who had been acting mayor after the death of Richard Daley, largely because of a blizzard that hit Chicago just before election, in early 1977. He couldn’t get the streets cleared, and those who could get out to vote, overwhelmingly turned down his bid for a full term.

Oh, God this is going to be funny. Let’s watch New York implode due to communist corruption and incompetence.

Sometimes the only thing you can do is stand by and let people destroy themselves, and pray you just don’t get sucked in by the wake.

But the government is supposed to make it all warm and sunny don’t you know. Wonder what it would be like if they got some serious snow.

Put a large fence around New York City.

Declare it an asylum.

Allow no traffic between it and the rest of the country.

I’ve been tossing out the idea of putting ALL large cities under the jurisdiction of the federal government like DC and not able to affect the state they’re located in.

Last evening I was watching the Weather Channel, which I assume leans somewhat left given their pro-global warming stance.

The anchors on duty expressed wide-eyed incredulity that DeBlasio didn’t close the public schools in the wake of the storm. They just couldn’t understand it. I figured he was thinking that the indoctrination must go on, regardless of the weather.
