The Supreme Court denied a stay of execution for Mexican national Edgar Tamayo, clearing the way for Texas to put the inmate to death Wednesday night. The Mexican government had called on Texas to halt the execution, saying that the death penalty in this case would violate international treaties.

Secretary of State John Kerry previously asked Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott to delay Tamayo's execution, saying it "could impact the way American citizens are treated in other countries." The State Department reiterated that position Tuesday.

it "could impact the way American citizens are treated in other countries."

Is he concerned that the Mexican authorities might start treating Americans properly? Because Americans who run afoul of the corrupt Mexican police and judiciary are treated a lot worse that this thug was treated.

If people from nations that do not have capital punishment don’t think their citizens who come here and commit crimes punishable by capital punishment should NOT fall under our capital punishment laws, then they have a very simple remedy - don’t come here to begin with. Otherwise, it is mere nationalistic arrogance for them to think OUR standards of punishment must conform to theirs.

We should do Mexico one more favor; ban all travel to the U.S. by Mexican nationals until Mexico signs a treaty acknowledging that its citizens on our soil ARE subject to whatever standards of criminal justice OUR laws employ, whether they agree with them or not.

Can we expand that to include a signed acknowledgement by people who immigrate here from Islamist nations, or better yet, all nations, saying that they realize we are governed by the federal Constitution and the constitutions of the individual 50 states, and that they will not promote or support the institution of Sharia law in the United States of America? Sounds crazy, I know.

Exactly. He was in the country illegally, illegally acquired a hand gun, illegally shot a Houston cop three times in the head and neck.

It’s like comedian Texan Ron White said:
“In Texas, if you kill us, we will kill you back.”

And, note, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott ignored Secretary of State pussy Kerry, as Abbott has ignored and sued numerous times, Attorney General Eric Holder, he sues him every chance he gets and wins his case at the Supreme Court.

State Attorney General Greg Abbott for Governor of Texas. You bet!
