Such was their stature during the golden age of local television news that mail sent to their WCVB-TV offices was often addressed simply to “Chet and Nat, Boston, MA.” For nearly three decades, beginning in the 1970s, Chet Curtis and Natalie Jacobson, married partners and boldfaced-name celebrities, formed a ratings-winning anchor team for whom viewers developed a strikingly familial affection.

Mr. Curtis, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, died Wednesday night, according to his family. He was 74 years old.

RIP
I didn’t know he was sick; quite a local figure. Always liked him better than Nat.

Yeah, but wasn't Russell Johnson too? Carr holds off for imminent demises that are expected to come in rapid succession.

Not like the old days when one DP lasted 18 months or so.

Don’t forget the he and Natalie (she of the impartial “We Won!” school of election result reporting) were the first notable local TV news couple to become “pregnant” that gave rise to the nationally known (for a “chic” 15-minutes) moniker “Channel 5 Syndrome” as other on-air marriages announced same.

RIP

Always liked him better than Nat.

A lot of people did, esp. after the separation.

So? Every damn thing in Boston is SO newsworthy.

Reporters are 99% scum of the earth. If there are “good” ones out there at all anymore, maybe they should have done something to reign in the ones who lie for the liberal cause.

The entire profession is tainted.
