There’s no reason to be magnanimous in victory to a guy that just shoved you. He started magnanimous, Crabtree went the other way, too bad for Crabtree. His true colors seem to be that he doesn’t suffer fools gladly, nothing wrong with that.
No, he regrets how the fans view him. Not once did he say he acted inappropriately, especially for someone who won.
I made the original post here and have since watched some of the other videos. The Richard Sherman in the heat of the moment is vastly different than the Richard Sherman writing the day after.
The Richard Sherman in the heat of the game is the Compton-born-and-bred Richard Sherman. The Richard Sherman the day after is the Stanford-graduate Richard Sherman. I'm guessing he's been trying to shed the former but it came out.
The NFL vid is illustrative. Just after the Crabtree rebuff, he calls himself a "tough n-word" and then tells Crabree to "Go yo' ass home! Go yo' ass home!" Then he trash talks to Erin Andrews and another reporter. That's the inner-city Compton boy, correctly labeled a thug.
If he doesn't want to shed that image, no apology is necessary.
But if he does, and clearly he does, he should change his character. Look in the mirror and realize his own role in this matter. Take some charm school classes during the offseason. Give a magnanimous and gracious interview after a game next year.
Fans will note the transformation and forgive him.
Yes, there is. That's the mark of a true gentleman, the one Sherman wants to be.
I have a lot more respect for Richard Sherman than any Manning. He wasn’t born with a silver football in his hands like the Manning’s. Sherman is a real student of the game and Peyton Manning. He knows exactly how Peyton plays the game.

Or she was sent to him because he has a history both with Crabtree AND Harbaugh AND had just made the big play to win the game. Sure they knew they were going to get something good out of him, nothing wrong with that. I don’t think there was anything smug about it, she did her job, go to the player that made the most recent big play, a guy with a history of having something to say and ask him his thoughts on the big play. And really it wasn’t even a fireball, he said some rude things about Crabtree, but they weren’t profane, and they were true. Most of the players in the league think the controversy on this is stupid, and if that hadn’t been the second to last football game of the year with nothing for 2 weeks it would have already blown over. But there’s nothing else to talk about, and time must be filled.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar and not part of some great conspiracy. He didn’t do anything wrong, Andrews didn’t do anything wrong, and people who think either did need to get their heads checked because they’re adding a lot of content from in their own head.
You have no idea what you are saying. He achieved a 4.2 GPA at Dominguez High of Compton, scored a 1,200 on his SAT and attended Stanford, where he earned a degree in communications with a GPA of 3.9. I do not see any de-evolving. All I see is achievement.

So he’s not a “true gentlemen”, BFD. There’s a big gap between “true gentlemen” and “thug” it’s where the vast majority of the world lives. If somebody did that to me I’d be pointing at the score board and telling them to GTF home too. I’ll be nice once, if the other person wants to rumble instead we can do that too.
The black and white is a bit much here. There are many shades and applications of warriorship, in daily life and in actual bullets warfare. Taking offense because the word warrior is applied to the attitude of a pro football player andrequiring it to be applied only to military SF is absurd.
Let me ask you something - is Marcus Lutrell's mother a warrior? What is the difference in warrior status between Marcus, an F-18 pilot, and someone who works in cryptonalysis decoding information and analyzing it, knowing that the lives of Marcus, the F-18 pilot, and Marcus's mother are utterly dependent on his not screwing up?
Waht about civilian air traffic controllers? What about people who refuse mob offers and graft in business? What about people in college who are offered inside tracks on jobs, money and even cheating, and refuse? What about nurses working below wage and staying with a small community because they are needed? Are they warriors?
Oh yeah, and BTW, that also includes people who grow up in Compton watching their friends die in gangs and drugs, and somehow fight for their own integrity enough to get into Stanford and go on to a higher degree, and, in addition to that, play pro ball at the level of making a game-winning play to get into the superbowl.
On behalf of the billions of wrriors in the world who do not get the specialized training, total support, acknowledgement, best equipment, optimized plans, and massive backup that SF warriors get - and I do acknowledge that even with all of that, they are true warriors - I suggest you reconsider your absolute definitions, just a little.

Reminds of how the Zimmerman/Trayvon story played out. At first I heard that a night watchman stalked and killed a kid because he was black. Once more facts came out, a different picture emerged,
And it wasn't just Sherman's immediate post-game interview, it was also his comments later on that reflected poor character.

I didn’t “take offense”.
But comparing a football player - an entertainer - to a Warrior who willingly risks his life every time he steps outside the compound is to my mind, what is absurd.
Talk to me about the dangers Sherman faces, versus 40-odd SEALs and other personnel on a CH47 Chinook getting shot down by RPGs in Afghanistan, and then tell what’s absurd.
You can see things anyway/however you choose to, friend. That is what an “opinion” forum is all about. That yours happens to disagree with mine is just the way it is.

Racism is against someone's skin color. I have no problem with Sherman's skin color. His personal ugliness, yes. His character, yes.

No, I'm no racist. One of the above men would be welcome to date my daughter. The other can stay on his own side of town.
