On Thursday, speaking at the John Podesta-founded Center for American Progress, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said that if it were not for the Tea Party, immigration reform would have passed long ago. He blamed Tea Party opposition to immigration reform on racism. "In a pre-tea party world, the Senate immigration bill would have been welcomed by House Republicans," Schumer stated. "However, the tea party rank and file know it's a different America. It looks different; it prays different; it works different. This is unsettling and angering to some."
Schumer added that discomfort with demographic change racism explained why so many on the right vehemently opposed the Senate immigration bill, a bill that actually embodies many conservative, non-governmental principals: reducing our deficit by billions, growing our economy, creating jobs and spurring new entrepreneurial activity.

I guess I’m a Racist then.
Go Back to Ireland, India, or Mexico, you grifters!
If they pass amnesty, I may try to get a better frame of mind about it; ya know...find a silver lining.
I’ll save my pennies until I can hire a “new American” to...uh...ummm...mow Schumer’s lawn for him. Yeah...that’s it.
sounds like the Dems are recruiting more IRS agents for the next election attack on the Tea Party
National sovereignty is racist.
So there were no conservatives in America before the Tea Party was formed? Lots of polls show that 40% of the country consistently labels themselves conservative, versus about 20% who call themselves liberals.
Neal Cavuto did a short clip on his program today comparing Chuckie Schumer to the wild and crazy Chuckie. Pretty funny. Hope Cavuto has good security and life insurance.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Our founders never envisioned career politicians or an onerous government of this nature. Wake me when its time to make lists and go door to door.
DESPICABLE DOUCHEBAG
They can all GTH.
because the gop-e wants this as well. they are under some delusion this will be good for the party.
FU kapo.
Who stopped amnesty in 2006/2007?
Hastert and Delay were not on the far right.
McCaskill, Harkin, Sherrod Brown and Sanders were not in the Tea Party.
Schumer is the same ilk as my long since dead senator Howard Metzembaum. I alway thought the old commie ( christians are the evil of the world) was behind the 1988 erisa ruling changing the company pension vesting rights from 10 years to five years, accelerating the dumping of manufacturing jobs in my state. You have to understand this bunch are political scientist, unlike say an aerospace designer. They are experts at manipulating statistics, data, and people. That’s what they do, untill we start electing some citizen legislators we are at their mercy. That’s why they have to demonize the tea party. It becomes increasingly clear the republican party has been extorted or compromised. We can change this, we only have to try. I pledge my allegiance to the stars and bars from now on, not any party.
I do think he is right to a point. Seems until the Tea Party the Republicans just rolled over to whatever the dems wanted. In fact that was in part why the Tea Party came about, we/they were tired of the Repubs campaigning on one thing and then doing the opposite when elected.
In a pre-tea party world, Republicans would have cowered at the shadows of Democrats and rolled over every time they spoke.

There is a Hastert Rule on immigration. Hastert killed Kennedy’s bill and did not go to conference because Bush would not sign enforcement.
In 2007, Sessions, Vitter, Demint and moderate Democrats killed the bill in the Senate to stop Pelosi.
Thank God for the tea party, a voice of sanity..
