The former chief of staff to Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn) arrested on child pornography charges last month has been found dead, according to police.
Jesse Ryan Loskarn, 35, died in an apparent suicide in his parents' house in Sykesville, Md., two other sources familiar with the matter said.
A release from the Carroll County Sheriff's Department said Loskarn was found in the home's basement and was unresponsive when authorities arrived after 12 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Loskarn had committed suicide, the sheriff's office said in a release.
It said Loskarn's body had been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, and that the investigation would continue.
Loskarn had been released into his parents’ custody in mid-December after being charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

That proves nothing. Alexander would do that regardless, even if the man were a saint.
Getting/sending the material is evidence. Not to put too fine a point on it, but did the charges give any detail as to what acts pictured constituted child porn? On one hand I don't want to know the details. OTOH, my over abiding distrust of the government demands something more than "trust us".
If he had been a staffer of Ted Cruz, I would demand to see the evidence before I believed the government. These are very venal and corrupt people in the JD. Some of them no higher on the moral totem pole than this guy.

I’m not a shrink and I don’t play one on TV. I am basically summarizing from memory a report put out by the Catholic Church on the priest scandal some time ago. This info may by now be outdated or amended or completely refuted.
In a nutshell, this particular psycho-sexual disorder (homosexual pedophilia) stems from a very stunted sense of masculinity or manhood. A sense of masculinity not formed or not fully formed. I’m not excusing their behavior, just trying to explain it, as I read in the report. Somewhere along the line, their emotional levels never fully developed or matured. As such, they can only relate to children, unfortunately inappropriately and criminally. I would wager that if you looked into their backgrounds, you would find a lot of them having had a dysfunctional relationship with one or both parents, likely dad. Their dads either ignored them, belittled them, or were toothless, cowering wimps. Yes, many millions of boys grew up under similar circumstances and turned out just fine. But some didn’t and they ended up with a lifelong void that could not be filled through normal adult relationships.
It’s legal in Tokyo and Nagano Japan. so I expect some of it comes from there. There are a LOT of bad parents out there, nudist colonies where they make a bunch of it.
