In Governor Christies efforts to solve New Jerseys education problems, yesterday he visited the Dudley Family School in Camden to discuss some of his plans for school programs in the Garden State.
.........................................................
One of the big education announcements that he made in Camden is plans for an after-school dinner program for kids in six of the citys schools. Research has shown that when kids are hungry, that affects not just their academic performance, but also their behavior.

Christie wants the state will provide all three meals for kids. I do not understand something. One minute I hear about an obesity crisis then the next kids are hungry at school. Which one is it???

Why don’t they just go ahead and take state control of the children? Bunk them up and be done with it.

Why not? And who needs parents anymore, when we have the State?
Parents can just beget them and forget them.

It's not just dinner that he wants to add:
Life in 2014 is very much different from life 100 years ago and it demands something more for our students. It is time to lengthen both the school day and the school year in New Jersey, Christie said.
Oh, dear. The governor is really sounding like a Democrat there. Governor, please rethink this idea.

What it mostly is, is more socialist overreach, big government expansion and intrusion into the family, with food as the bait.
Who will protest the care and feeding of hungry little state owned drones?

In-school meals should be deducted from the parents EBT cards. No need to pay twice for food.

Don’t let this guy kid you. He’s no Republican. He’s an opportunist.
Regardless, if he becomes a Republican candidate, the left will spare no effort to destroy him.

Here'a another novel, this one
written by a 15-year-old school student about where it all might be leading:
Truancy ;-) (I haven't read it yet, but it looks interesting.)

Research has shown that when kids are hungry, that affects not just their academic performance, but also their behavior. They need research to validate what any parent or teacher already knows??????
Oh, that's right. they're not 'experts".
Sheesh, what morons......

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Kids will NOT be fed properly with just School Breakfast, School Lunch and School Dinner... until such time as government supplies School Cookies-and-Milk-Before-Bed and School Midnight-snack. Only then, will kids be properly nourished.

Let's just get rid of the family altogether, and have the kids live at school.
Too bad we lost such a great presidential candidate...
