I absolutely love this article. It is brutally honest, which is great.

Wendy Davis is the Meryl Streep character from Kramer vs. Kramer (who was the villian, btw) without any of her remotely redeeming qualities.

Ooops...sorry about that ;-) I’ll try to stop doing that!

That’s silly.

The child was already older (16 I think) and neither parent was contesting custody

The decision was probably based on wanting to stay in her school district or in the same home or close to friends etc. It’s not like she was little. By 18 she custody would not be an issue anyway.

People who divorce with older kids make custody decisions entirely differently than those with young children.

People who write stuff like this have their own agenda and are undermining the real issues which are:

1. She misrepresented herself to voters on numerous occasions.
2. She supports unlimited abortion.

Ah, so Wendy secured college tuition from wallet #2 for her first daughter as well. Very slick.

That’s so right; if AR can gloat in clintoidism; TX can covert to the “New Davis”.

If she voted in a Republican primary, she was automatically a “Republican” for the following two-year period. And couldn’t even change parties until the next even-year primary

I don’t know the financial arrangement of the schooling. But keep in mind Amber
turned 18 in 2000. The mom graduated from Harvard in 1993 and began her law
career. In addition her and Jeff started a Title Co. So apparently she was
contributing to the family finances. I’m not sure when the Amber graduated from
college. It may have been after the divorce was final in 2005.

I just default to thinking the worst of Democrats. It saves time and I’m so infrequently wrong that it’s not worth waiting.

Agreed. She’d be welcomed with open arms in NY, MA, RI, CA etc.

Yes, until she opens her mouth...

Once that Texas drawl comes out every elitist, snobby, Northeasterner will think she is just a dumb uncouth southern Texas hick...

That Boston to DC population think the whole freaking country except for them are a couple steps over retards...

HJ: The eldest daughter was 23, hence no custody.

The youngest daughter was 17 and expressed a preference to live with her father; in many states, children over 14 are allowed to choose their custodial parent.

I'd prefer to attack her over her stories about how her tuition was paid for, and the fact that, despite her 'poor single mother' story, Wendy Davis is an example of "behind every successful woman is a good man," and not a winning story for feminists.

True as that is what happened.

She voted in the Republican primaries in 1996, 1998 and 2006. In 2008,
she defeated Republican Kim Brimer for the seat.

If Wendy was in California or New York state....she’d still have a chance. This being Texas...most independent voters are going to now ask stupid questions. She’s lost their votes because of the weak story given. She might still clear forty percent of the state vote only because of die-hard Democrats....but a major part of Texas politics involves independents. They usually are family-orientated.

My suggestion to Wendy....after she loses.....go to either Austin or Midland and run for the local mayor’s office. I think she needs another ten years to remake her character, and find some new slant to the governor’s office.
