Snyder announced Thursday he wants to bring 50,000 immigrants to live and work in Detroit to help boost the population. He's looking to give 5,000 visas in the first year.

First we have Dearbornistan and now likely Detroitistan.
What could possibly go wrong? go wrong? go wrong? go wrong?
I swear it’s half because of their experience (and feelings of guilt) with their domestic help and landscapers—and half because of their big-business donors.
You drop a busload of Mexicans in Detroit and they may run for the border screaming “I ain’t living in that hell hole”.
There IS a Mexican Town.
Yep, a sizable latin American community in Detroit.
Boost the population some other way, dipshit. You bring in 50k immigrants from God knows where, and there will be a mass exodus of the few remaining Michigan tax payers that are still here. http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20090402/METRO/904020403
God forbid Snyder do something rational — like cut taxes to ZERO for new and relocating businesses in Detroit.
What an idiot! And would these prospective new Detroiters be required to live in Detroit for the rest of their lives? Could they move after say, one year, one month???
And what makes him or anyone else think immigrants are going to revive a city that has been dying for decades for reasons that will not be easily reversed?

1. Does he have jobs for them?
2. Why not bring in 50,000 unemployed Americans?
