China on the radar, India invites Japan for Indo-US Malabar naval war games

NEW DELHI: Injecting some much-needed thrust to its rapidly expanding strategic partnership with Japan, India has invited the Japanese forces to take part in this year's edition of the Indo-US Malabar naval war games that have riled China in the past. India and Japan on Saturday also decided to hold another joint working group meeting in March to discuss the sale of Japanese US-2i ShinMayva amphibious aircraft to Indian Navy, apart from ramping up defence ties through regular joint combat exercises and military exchanges as well as cooperation in anti-piracy, maritime security and counter-terrorism.

Both the Malabar war games and the proposed sale of amphibious planes are crucial in the sense that they mark a departure from the past, both for India and Japan. India has largely restricted the Malabar exercise to a bilateral one with the US after China protested against the 2007 edition of the war games in the Bay of Bengal since they were expanded to include the Australian, Japanese and Singaporean navies as well.

China has always viewed any multi-lateral naval grouping in its neighbourhood as part of a grand strategy to build a security cooperation axis in the Asia-Pacific region to "contain'' it. Shrugging aside such concerns this time, India, US and Japan will hold the Malabar war games off the coast of Japan in August-September this year.

The joint statement issued after the Manmohan Singh-Shinzo Abe meeting on Saturday, in fact, welcomed India's invitation to the Japanese maritime self-defence force to take part in the Malabar exercise. China, of course, figures high on the radar screens of both. India and Japan are wary of China's increasingly assertive behaviour, especially in the contentious South and East China Seas where it is locked in territorial disputes with its neighbours ranging from Vietnam to Japan, as well as the rapid modernisation of the People's Liberation Army.

While Japan has been quite vocal about all this, India has tried to strike a fine balance between countries like the US and Japan on one side and China on the other. India and China are also of course competing for the same strategic space in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), which New Delhi views as its own backyard.

On the amphibious aircraft front, Japan is trying to end its almost five-decade-old self-imposed embargo to export military hardware and software by selling at least a dozen US-2i planes to India to set the ball rolling. "The discussions are still at a preliminary stage. But yes, India would like to acquire armed amphibious planes for their operational logistics and search-and-rescue capabilities,'' said an official.

PM Manmohan Singh made it quite clear that the India-Japan partnership was "essential for peace, prosperity and stability in the Asian, Pacific and Indian Ocean regions''.

"We are working together on promoting maritime security and advancing our energy security. Together, and with other countries in the region and beyond, we seek an open, balanced, inclusive and rule-based regional architecture that fosters regional peace, stability and prosperity," he said.

Anyone and everyone who has kept an eye on the Pacific rim knows what China’s plans and goals are. They based their plans on the success of a quasi-Capitalist economy, unaware that any economy ruled by a central bank and fiat money (debt, liquidity and credit) is not a free-market and is not a Capitalist economy but is a socialist economy.

India is being very foolish. They proudly considered themselves a part of the BRICs and they maintained that association as long as that association was a growing colelctive of the ‘emerging markets.’ The BRICs include Brazil, Russia, and China, three countries that have been very open about their desire to trounce America. What was especially offensive to America about India’s proud membership in this international cartel of anti-American interests is the key role America played in giving India the jobs that would result in true economic growth...reversing the socialism and local isolationism pimped by Gandhi and that kept India in the economic dark ages until they finally “emerged.”

Now that China is unraveling—rather, now that they can no longer lie to the world about how well they are doing economically (all based on lies) — India is now trying to ally itself with Japan.

China has a mortal hatred of Japan and is just looking for the opportunity to avenge the brutal treatment that Japan exercised on China. The recent rhetoric of remembering history was a tremendous diplomatic escalation. If Japan does not use nukes, China will soundly trounce them with the millions of young men that have no hope (because of China’s demographics) of getting married and having a family and who are disposable soldiers in the eyes of China’s leadership. Japan, meanwhile, is dying demographically and its young men (according to local trend reports) prefer porn than actual girlfriends and wives.

The global economy will collapse. Fiat currency and debt cannot prop it up forever. We are seeing several cracks in the dike. When the global economy collapses, the survival of each nation will be based upon the necessities that each can produce and their prosperity will be limited to what other nations can afford. China and India have parlayed their self-reliance in exchange for the profits of international trade which has not been based on true economic growth but upon several massive bubbles, each dependent on the others and that will all pop eventually.

If India thinks they can save their own skin by casting off their alliance first with America and then with China in order to team up with Japan, which has neither the economy nor the military to defend them, then they are sorely mistaken.

This will not end well for India who will find herself with no loyal allies and several hardened enemies.

We do. But these interesting times have been lived ad nauseum over the past century.

Governments get bigger and bigger, take more and more power and control away from the citizenry. They seek to be the purse and spenders of everything from cradle to grave, from dusk to dawn. They inevitably allow themselves to be controlled by a central bank, who ruins the currency.

Debt increases. The interest on the debt takes all the spending money the government has. The government fears losing control or having to default, which cuts off their loans.

So they go to war.

My whole life my belief was that I would fight for my country no matter what.

Now that I realize that many wars are actually fought because of economic mishandling and currency manipulation (usually by central banks), I refuse to fight.

If we default and tell China we will not pay them back, we should extradite each and every American politician who kept up this borrow-and-spend fraud and allow the ChiComs to do to them whatever they want.

I won’t fight for a bank.

I won’t fight for a socialist/communist/totalitarian.

I will only fight for freedom.
