I thought he was stealing from military retirees so that illegal aliens could continue to receive unlawful EIC payments?
That does seem to be the pattern. I'll be interested to read the actual proposal to see what it does.
Anything that continues the status quo by stealing from our Vets, you or I will not get my support, period.
REAL REFORM starts with cutting/eliminating the very government programs that not only facilitate, but promote people living in "poverty" on the government teat.
"Poverty" in America means free subsidized housing, SNAP, Cable TV and at least one car driven by someone who's at least 150 pounds overweight talking on their Obamaphone. At least that's what I keep seeing!
ENOUGH! Take these programs and CUT, CUT, CUT!!
I surely like that. Assembly shops (electrical and mechanical) were the jobs available to us just out of high school. As kids, we did okay during those days. And eventually I was lucky enough to get hired by a major company that had tons of assembly/factory jobs that gave tuition $$. They subsidized my undergrad degree. But college costs are way out of reach for most companies. My old subsidy of $5700 annually would barely cover a semester these days. I’d love to run or work for a small manufacturer again to train the unskilled. It was my break; I’d love to be able to do it for others. Just sad.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I learned to build houses in high school, but there weren’t many units being built. Then I worked in steel during the late 1970s. From there, it was one occupation to another.
My county in CO is gigantic, area-wise, with only around 14,000 people. It would take maybe 2 hours to drive through it from one end to the other one way, and over an hour the other way. It’s majority Republican, but most residents are environmentalists and animal worshipers (or simply don’t want younger neighbors working).
The properties in my development are each a little over 35 acres, and very few are occupied (maybe 20 houses, total, out of over 300 lots available since the ‘70s). There’s a county zoning “law” against any manufacturing, no matter how small.
Planning, building and other regulations look much like those in places like New York, and there’s at least one large impact fee. To be blunt, the political problem has to do with sympathies between local government folks and the majority of pensioners from high paying jobs. Gossip and false allegations over exaggerated trivial matters run rampant. I suspect that such political hindrances against owner-building and tiny, productive businesses are a nationwide problem, because this is a very remote and sparsely populated area with an extremely cold and windy climate (high elevation).
No problem so great, that government can’t make even worse.
I guess Ryan is just doing what the people of WI demand.
