. I bought a 1954 Gillette double edged razor, 100 Wilkinson blades (20 cents each), and a nice badger brush and mug set (Christmas present). It works great and costs very much less. Canned shave cream is evil. It's too thick.

Safety razors? We dun need no stikin' safety razors.

You're almost there. A good Dovo straight razor and strop is cheaper than many electric razors and offers a much better shave. Turns a morning chore into a focused Zen like experience. Tranquility with a hint of danger. When you start the day with a cutthroat razor everyone else is just a pajama boy.

Personally, I'll just continue to shave with my razor sharp ax.

The main problem is that I sometimes forget to bring it in after chopping the wood.

I’m old enough that my dominant hand shakes a bit. I like a close shave, but bleeding is not a personal objective. I have a couple of spots where I use the two hand 1911A1 grip.
