“When it’s springtime in Alaska, it’s forty-two below”.

There is nothing between the stretch from the Midwest to the Northeast, and the Arctic Circle, except a barbed wire fence.

And part of that is down. The Alberta Clipper is blowing in full force.

Forget hurricanes, of which there may be a sizable swath of intense damage. Repeated cold waves like this promote FAR more, if somewhat diffuse, total damage, economically and physically.

Adversity there is plenty of, no need to go out and invent some.

Hell is frozen over.

I’m in alberta, and we’ve been plus temps for over a week. We hit 53f just the other day.

-20f isn’t that bad either. They can get back to me when it hits -76f.

I hope everyone has adequate heating though.

At times like this I pull out my August 2006 copy of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC and read the article NO END IN SIGHT! KILLER HURRICANES! which warns us of the gloom and doom of GLOBULL WARMING!

Menawhile, I’ll watch LAWRENCE OF ARABIA and other hot weather films.
