All the direct relatives, including children, of Jang Song Thaek, the late uncle of Kim Jong-un who was put to death on December 12 2013, have been executed in North Korea, according to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency.
“Multiple sources” told Yonhap, a publicly funded news agency, that entire families related to Thaek have been executed.
Thaek was convicted of plotting to overthrow North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and the whole North Korean government, and was sentenced to death by firing squad at the end of last year. The North Korean regime issued photos of his arrest.

If this were an adventure story, a prophecy would fortell the child of an enemy becoming Kim Jong-Un’s undoing. Unbeknownst to him, one of the baby sons would have been spirited away, raised in secret and trained to eventually fulfill the prophecy.
But this isn’t an adventure story. In the real world, brutal dictators kill everyone.
That would be the 12 SS Panzer division, the Hitler Jugend division. They were particularly vicious and the perpetrators of the massacre of captured prisoners in the Normandy campaign. Ironically they displayed more zeal than sense and sustained heavy casualties.
My mother had related to me, during my youth, that two brothers of her neighbor’s family had enlisted in the Canadian army and one of them was captured just after D-Day.
He was executed along with other Canadian soldiers in the courtyard of a church.
My mother said the remaining brother spent the rest of the war delivering payback when the opportunity arose.

Getting rid of the family members eliminates those who might want revenge.
