Authorities have called off the search for a Colorado woman who disappeared shortly after returning from a two-year trek around the world, but her husband believes there is still work left to be done.

Leanne Bearden, 33, vanished on January 17 after she left a relative’s home in Garden Ridge, Texas, to go for a walk.

Okay so he answers the cellphone question here:

http://www.kens5.com/home/Garden-Ridge-police-looking-for-woman-missing-since-Friday-241077051.html

“We were sharing the one cellphone and it was the one I was using for job interviews and things like that, so I had to keep the phone on me.”

Really???? You can’t be without your cellphone for AN HOUR so your wife can take it on her walk???? I say BS.

Then he says she could be 10 miles away up here in no man’s land hurt sowewhere — but why would she be there if she was only going to be gone for an hour — at most a mile and a half away.

Why do I get the feeling that hubby intends to turn this Search for Leanne into a full time job while Leanne is off somewhere getting her haircut and dyed awaiting her next instructions.

Then there's this:

According to Will Bearden, Josh said Leanne left to go on a walk about 1:30 p.m. Friday. She was expected to return in an hour, when she had a phone call scheduled about a job prospect in Denver.

So then SHE was expecting a phone call -- not HIM. She was in need of the phone -- not him. So then wth was HE doing with the cellphone??? She was the one who needed it for her interview in an hour and she would have needed it on her walk if it would have taken more than an hour.

And then there are his supposed last words -- "take your time". Well she definitely is doing that.

When she did not return within four hours, Josh Bearden reported her missing. About that time, his father and mother returned from an out-of-town trip.

What a coincidence!!!

More confirmation:

The 33 year old may have been carrying a backpack. We have learned that her family noticed that a backpack was missing from the home. It’s black on the sides and orange on the front.

http://www.woai.com/pages/michaelboard.html?article=12002765

And her husband missed that little detail??? What woman takes of backpack on an hour walk along with her wallet but leaves her cellphone at home???

And what could have been in it — hair dye, scissors, enough food and water to get her across the border so she can then reappear with some outlandish tale of abduction and kidnapping followed by her miraculous escape from their clutches and flight to freedom.

The sooner the money from the fundraisers and donations are dry up the sooner she will appear — hair cut and dyed, a little dirty and worn out, a few cuts and bruises for effect, coming out of the big river with this tale for the gullible.

Very strange. One would think that she had to have learned some street smarts, but who knows?

Asked if Leanne could have ventured off to a far-away place, based on her experience with traveling, Garrett Stethens, a friend of the family and their spokesman, said it was a possibility.

“She was a seasoned traveler,” he said. “The possibility is that maybe she did.”

Tommy Vincent:

There are traffic signal cams to both the east and west of Sumac along 3009... these are on 30-day recording loops and are owned by the City of Garden Ridge.

These cameras, based on information from the tree trimmer and the end-of-scent from canine searches, indicate that she was last on 3009 at Teakwood, one street over from Sumac.

If this is the case, there is no way that Leanne could have travelled, either by foot or vehicle, past those signal cams without being captured. EVERY vehicle caught on video cam in that four hour span should be investigated.

https://www.facebook.com/ourfriendleannehechtbearden/posts/220237371501256?

Apparently cadaver dogs lost her scent not far from the house where she was last seen a few streets over —

Is that where she got into a vehicle prearranged — perhaps one driven by her husband???

Where was he during those 4 hours before he called police — in his vehicle at any time???

So she starts out on foot heading north toward the badlands but then her husband drives over and picks her up and takes her a few hours south in the opposite direction to throw any subsequent search off and get her well on the way out of the area to where she was going to hold up for awhile.

She’s a marathon runner. I would think that 23 miles would be the diameter of the search with the in-laws house in the middle at 11-12 miles. 11-12 miles from the house isn’t that far considering she’s a marathon runner. The Boston Marathon is 26 miles and the record for women is 2 hours 20 minutes. Just throwing that out there as a what if she ran instead of walked.

There are several quarries that fit quite nicely within that 23 mile area and I bet they don’t do very good background checks on their employees. Also, Natural Bridge Caverns and the wildlife park is 5 miles from the house. Like I said yesterday, it’ll be pure luck if they find a body.

Unless the “she” was really “he” that was waiting on the interview call. More stupid reporter tricks. Either way, some people don’t have to be attached to their cells 24/7. If I were to walk around my neighborhood, I wouldn’t take mine. Several neighbors walk without theirs. This is Texas, not Chicago.

Nothing wrong with telling her to take her time. Nice pretty 65 degree day so enjoy herself instead of being cooped up in the house with the inlaws. The man trimming trees across the street said he saw her leave alone and nothing was amiss. I don’t think hubby had anything to do with it.

Apparently, the witness across the street missed a backpack, too. Unless, she hid it earlier. Or it’s still in the house under their other luggage or under the bed or in a closet.

Ok, hiking shoes and jeans means she didn’t plan on jogging. Don’t know what hiking shoes are since you hike in boots but whatever.

You just blew that. If there are street cameras then there would be a picture of hubby’s car. Then there’s the tree trimmer who didn’t see hubby leave. You have tunnel vision on hubby.

Not really.

They could have had a vehicle positioned several streets over. She walks a couple of blocks and gets in the vehicle where her backpack already is and drives away. Hubby never has to leave the house.

I wonder if they bought a used car recently???

Nevertheless what was he doing during those 4 hours??

Hubby’s family seem to be running this whole show.

Her family in Georgia were told not to talk to the media — that it was best to have a single voice — and voila that voice turns out to be Garden Ridge voice.

Then they decide to hire a PI and it’s hubby’s father who makes the arrangements and hires the PI and the PI immediately points away from the hubby saying:

“She could have fallen in harm’s way or she could have run away. We’ll be checking airports, train stations, bus stations and truck stops.”

Her family is playing second fiddle here and its their daughter.

First thing I’d be checking is the hubby’s odometer —

What do you do when your wife goes on a walk? The usual normal things until she’s long past taking her time around the two hour mark. I’ve been known to stop and talk to neighbors and the time gets away. Then you look outside and maybe walk down the block and ask the tree trimmer or anyone who’s outside if they’ve seen her. As her friends have said, she’s adventuresome so he waits a while longer. Frankly, it’s commendable that he called the cops so early in the game. Why? What do you think he was doing since he or his car isn’t on any street cameras?

This report says she went for a jog and had $60 and credit cards on her.

A normal person would get in the car and go look for her and not worry about the tree trimmer.

A normal person could also do without his phone for an hour especially if unemployed so that his wife could take it and know when an hour is up so she could then be home from her walk — particularly if she was supposed to be getting a call then because I’ll bet the cellphone is her timepiece.

The reason that she didn’t take the cellphone is they didn’t want her to be tracked.

I can walk 5 miles in 35 minutes, and I’m not as young or as healthy as these two.

To answer another “issue” here, this couple rented out their house in Denver. Could explain why they’re staying with his folks in TX.

Additionally, the husband needed the phone because he was expecting a phone call around that time related to his job search.

First, I misspoke re: the phone.

Second, cadaver dogs are not used for searching for live people. I will look on the link to see what’s up with that.

Sorry, the “cameras” you speak of are actually sensors for the traffic lights.
