See Side-By-Side Shots of Sneaky CBS Editing of Ted Cruz Interview
NewsBusters ^ | January 27, 2014 | 12:17 | Tim Graham

The assumption that the Sunday news shows might be live and unedited certainly unraveled with Sunday's discovery that CBS opportunistically edited anti-Obama remarks out of Bob Schieffer's interview with Ted Cruz.

The most insincere thing Schieffer said at the end was "We're going to leave this for another day, Senator." It's more like "We're going to kill this and never let it see another day, Senator." MRCTV's Bob Parks has assembled a nice video that illustrates what CBS cut out below:

Here's what Schieffer actually asked Schumer on the subject of the Tea Party:

SCHIEFFER: And joining us now for some reaction to the Republican side of things, at least Tea Party side of things, New York Democrat Chuck Schumer. I`ll just give you the chance to respond, what did you think of what Senator Cruz had to say?...

SCHIEFFER: Let me ask you about The Hill newspaper, which circulates on Capitol Hill, ran a headline this week said that Chuck Schumer had a plan to poison the Tea Party. I think we`ve got a picture of that maybe we'll show that before the broadcast is over here. Do you? Obviously you didn`t mean that literally...

SCHUMER: Well, it`s not to poison them. But look the question millions of Americans are asking, not just Democrats but independents and Republicans, how can a small extreme minority paralyze the government?

CNSNews.com reports that Cruz has posted a list of questions list he says President Obama should address in his State of the Union address Tuesday night:

1. Will the President allow the Department of Justice to appoint a special prosecutor to fully investigate the IRS’s illegal targeting of conservatives?

2. Will the President protect the privacy of law-abiding citizens from unjustifiable violations by the National Security Agency, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Internal Revenue Service, and Department of Health and Human Services?

3. Will the President recognize that his economic policies have failed to create the millions of jobs that he promised and have, instead, reduced the labor force participation rate to its lowest level in decades? Will he commit to job-creating policies such as the immediate authorization of the Keystone Pipeline, a moratorium on new regulations, and fundamental tax reform for every American?

4. Will the President call on Congress to form a Joint Select Committee to finally discover the truth of why four Americans perished in a preventable terrorist attack in Benghazi 16 months ago?

5. Will the President recognize that it was a mistake to ram through Obamacare on a party-line vote and that it is hurting millions of Americans?

It’s easy to see that CBS lives in mortal fear of Ted Cruz.

I can't wait for "Independent" Bill O'Reilly to air this.
Oh wait, he's busy fixing his knee-pads for the Øbama softball interview on SB Sunday.

Reeely? CBS edits the news to screw conservatives? Golly, who’da thunk it? Bob Schieffer is an old-line commie POS.

Good work,
I couldn’t help but notice how Scheifer’s ending ‘goodbye’ to him sounding like something was clipped when I saw it yesterday.

But I did wonder what he was doing on that particular show CBS anyway.

Scheifer’s the worst of the three, and he looks 100 years old.

This is why Sarah Palin won’t do taped interviews on the alphabets. They lied to/about her in ‘08 with their editing.

The only way to do this is to require YOUR OWN FILM CREW to be there as well.

Any creative editing can immediately be called.

Of course, a lie gets halfway round the world before the truth gets out of bed.

I think that’s what Cruz did. And you’re right about the relative velocities of lies and truth. I think it was Churchill who has a famous quote about that.

Since no one can actually be surprised at this, I wonder why Conservatives grant interviews such as this. Are there no other interviewees out there of at least similar notoriety with whom a proper interview could be conducted?

Why talk to the “fake but accurate” network, or others of that ilk?

Does anyone thing the viewership of that network will be persuaded by anything aired by a conservative?

You turn no hearts, change no minds, educate no brains by talking to them, and you give them grist for the mill when they look for footage to restructure to trash the interviewee...

If we succeed in showing they are biased, we win nothing of consequence.

Someone please explain to me how this is not FRAUD and CORRUPTION in the media, and why citizens could not file suit under RICO laws, product negligence, or deceptive trade practices?

Freedom of the Press, in my opinion, is not a defense when there is outright deception!!!

We just need one smart attorney....

Much like as Trump told Wulf Blister on a CNN interview, the good part of this is that the ratings are so low that nobody was paying attention.

Personally, I think it is good policy to always present yourself as available for interviews, especially when you are not afraid to fight for conservative principles like Ted Cruz.

Add to that the fact that Ted Cruz is extremely articulate, and even with the de-facto ambush journalism practiced by the Marxists in the Media, you still come out ahead as they know you are unafraid to fight for what you believe in and you, as Ted Cruz does, simply adjust your tactics to their deceitful practices.

What our side should never do, and the GOP-E does all the time, is surrender any communication medium to the left or adjust our policies so that they will treat us nicely, once again, the standard process for GOP-E politicians.

I am extremely proud of Ted Cruz for having the courage of his convictions to go into the Lion's Den and make the case for Conservative governance.

I agree with his guts and the idea of confronting them, but in this context, he has no control over the presentation of the case. It is left in the hands of the miscreants and malfeasors that now make up the American leftist media.

The truth is not in them. It is advocacy in belief, advocacy in result, advocacy in tactics, and advocacy in faith.
