One of the great voices of folk rock...
From what I’ve heard about Paul Robeson, he had a great voice. His political beliefs were naive, at bets.
Or he killed himself, which does’t say much for his life over there. Also, they said his wife was spying on him for the Stasi.
In GDR everybody spied on everybody else. German efficiency, you know. I don’t think that the North Korean have reached this kind of perfection. And Dean Reed, who became a big star in Eastern Europe at the time when few Western artists visited there, could have waited a few years Stateside and become the “next Dylan” like Jackson Browne and Bruce Springsteen. A man before his time.
