Citizen Files Ethics Complaint Against Wendy Davis

AUSTIN, Texas — A Texas citizen filed a complaint before the Texas Ethics Commission Monday afternoon, alleging that State Senator and gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth) knowingly misrepresented her assets on her annual Personal Financial Statements.

The complainant, Lou Ann Anderson of Temple, alleges that Davis failed to disclose her ownership of stocks and mutual funds, capital gains made on the sale of those mutual funds, interest earned on several bank accounts, and professional ties to registered lobbyists associated with a law firm at which she is employed.

Davis allegedly failed to make these financial disclosures on three of the four Personal Financial Statements she has filed since taking office in 2009. Watchdog Wire has obtained copies from 2010, 2011, and 2012.

I predict her political career will end in a few months with her fleeing from the podium under tough questioning, high heels flying from her feet, mascara running while she is crying and the media complaining about the GOP’s “war on women” while conveniently forgetting the smears, slander. lies and libel they committed against Sarah Palin.

The difference being is that there is no need to embellish Davis’ words - she has damaged herself with her own words and actions, unlike Palin, who the MSM had to resort to lies and slander and even attacking her family in an attempt to marginalize her in the most misogynistic, sexist and biased attack on any politician I’ve seen in my lifetime.

Will SNL attack Abortion Barbie the way they went after Palin?

Of course not. She’s a baby killer so she’s a hero.
How f****d up is that?

The margin of defeat cannot be big enough for a candidate whose whole political image is so wrapped up in abortion promotion.

The thing is....this is a ethics violation. The State Bar Association will be hard-pressed to just allow it and pretend it didn’t happen. You could screw up on one year and come back the next to correct matters....which the Bar guys could overlook. But this was more than that.

I’d say Wendy finishes the race....maybe with forty percent of the vote at this point. The independent voters are finished with her. She ought to concentrate on some mayor’s job in Texas, and just settle for that. The idea of anything bigger over the next decade? Only if she gets appointed as some ambassador or White House Czar. Imagine explaining the ethics violations to some Senate panel for a cabinet post?

The complaint alleges that this failure to disclose violates the Texas State Code, which requires state officers and candidates for office to make public a variety of assets, including bank accounts, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, capital gains, interest earned, businesses and properties owned, rents, royalties, and other forms of wealth. This law went into effect in its present form in 1993, during the administration of Gov. Ann Richards (D), and is intended to “strengthen the faith and confidence of the people in state government” by increasing transparency and helping to ensure that conflicts of interest do not occur.

"But, but, but..THIS was not meant to apply to Democrats!"

(something about "Schadenfreude" and then "Do good to those who despise you" keep battling each other in my mind...)

:-)

Maybe she’ll get sued twice a month like Sarah Palin did, but the lawsuits will actually have merit and Davis will end up in jail?

Wouldn’t that be a hoot?

How long before she discovers she has "Cherokee" heritage?

I want her to stay in the race until the end. She’s going to suck up tens of millions of Dem dollars in a losing effort that otherwise would have gone to Democrats with better chances to win.

If she threw her husband and kids under the bus, imagine what she’ll do to her voters?

No conscious. Just a narcissistic psychopath. You can see it in her eyes and hear it when she speaks.

She’s a power hungry grifter and a charlatan.

Look what she did to her ex-husband who put her thru law school. Divorced him before the ink was dry on the last check for the school loan.

She was a single Mother with nothing going for her working as a waitress with no future when she met her future sugar daddy who was 13 years older than her. Once she drained his bank account and 401k dry, she dropped him.

She also gave up custody of her kids. What kind of Mother does that? A crazy one, that’s what kind. Mother of the Year that Ms. Davis is.

But I’m sure she wouldn’t do anything like that to her voters, just to her own family.

Screwing your own family is the traditional starter set for bigger and better things in the political and financial worlds.

She also gave up custody of her kids. What kind of Mother does that?

That's the part of her history that conservatives probably need to quit talking so much about.

Her 'kids' were 17 and 23 when she 'gave up custody.' You can't give up custody of a 23 year old.

Her team is working on a response right now. Key words and phrases:

“Errors were made”
“Minor”
“My accountant”
“Distraction from the real issues”
“Overlooked”
“Years ago”
“Forgot”
“Mistakes”
“War on women”
etc.
