“We’re going to watch very closely, because there’s a Constitution that we all take an oath to, including him, and following the Constitution is the basis for House Republicans,” Boehner said.

Oh I'd be scared. What's the next step. Double secret probation?

I think using these numbers is being very disingenuous. What was in these executive orders signed by these presidents? One signed by Bush or Clinton designating Thursday as People With Two Left Feet Day is a lot different than one signed by Obama that tramples the Second Amendment or shuts down the coal industry. I wish FOX news would give the numbers game a rest and talk about what kind of action Barry’s EOs are taking and how it affects us.

For the record.......

what would you have them do?

Going to court on specific subjects is the only legal recourse they have

HOORAY markomalley! Post #1 echoes my sentiments exactly. Great post/thread BUMP!

You would use the law to oppose socialism? But it is upon the law that socialism itself relies. Socialists desire to practice legal plunder, not illegal plunder. Socialists, like all other monopolists, desire to make the law their own weapon. And when once the law is on the side of socialism, how can it be used against socialism? For when plunder is abetted by the law, it does not fear your courts, your gendarmes, and your prisons. Rather, it may call upon them for help. - Bastiat

Maybe they should sign a “strongly worded” letter. That would really shake things up. /S

only if it is written in red crayon.

It is BS as the court will rule that it’s the political process and Congress has it’s own remedy, two chief criteria that the judiciary uses when deciding on hearing the case.

Scotus is not the enforcement arm of the Constitution. It is the arbiter of what’s constitutional. Congress has it’s own tools. Impeachment being one. The next is throwing political temper tantrums like government shut downs.

Congress has no recourse through the judiciary regarding excessive rule bending, and Presidential executive orders.

Congress was given all the tools it needs to put the President in check.

See Steel Seizure case for limits on executive power. I don't think Nixon was called out on his wage and price controls.

Lawsuits require a specific conflict in order to proceed. The threat to use more executive action isn't "ripe" for a decision.

A strongly worded letter won’t work.

It’s time for a STERNLY worded letter!

They know Obama controls the courts. That is why they are going this route instead of defunding and impeaching.

this will take years if ever to get through the courts. The GOP knows this.

It’s all part of the uniparty pony show.
