Congressional Republicans are taking President Obama to court over his use of executive power to sidestep Congress.

The executive actions that Obama touted during the State of the Union speech are adding fresh urgency to the legal efforts of Republicans, who say he is using the authority of his office in unprecedented ways.

If bammy is willing to ignore Congress, how can anyone believe that he will obey courts?

He may emulate Andrew Jackson? "John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!" (probably apocryphal)

I heard several references during interviews last night on Greta to a Republican Retreat this weekend?

A strongly worded letter won’t work.

It’s time for a STERNLY worded letter!

Are these the same courts that Democrats in the Senate said can be stacked with only a simple majority (nuclear option)?

Yes.

This strategy was in place years ago, setting up a court system that would approve executive powers like never before.

A founding father's thoughts on the judiciary (aka "the courts"):

This member of the Government was at first considered as the most harmless and helpless of all its organs. But it has proved that the power of declaring what the law is, ad libitum, by sapping and mining slyly and without alarm the foundations of the Constitution, can do what open force would not dare to attempt.

It’ll just end up in a Democrat Kangaroo Rubber Stamp Court under a Democrat Judge.

Yes, but the the GOPe can say they tried. That's all that matters, "A" for effort.

What's with Rep. No-sensenbrenner (R.) calling the suit by Sen. Ron Johnson a "political stunt"?

The conservatives are finally mounting a frontal attack on the Dictator.....while entrenched GOP-elite coots like Nonsensenbrenner are mounting party infighting attacks.

Disgusting.

What they’re saying they’ll do is nothing more than their famous “show votes” they all collude to be able to go home and say “I voted no”. What they really do is vote to bring a controversial bill to the floor for a vote when they KNOW they have a chance to kill it outright if they stick together and don’t vote for cloture. Backstabbing traitors.

Oooooh, but, but Boner says Obama is violating the Constitution. Ooooooh, Obama is really, really scared now of Boner.

'We have a Constitution': Boehner warns Obama on exec orders

House Speaker John Boehner issued a stern warning to President Obama ahead of Tuesday night's State of the Union address: "We have a Constitution. We abide by it. If he tries to ignore it, he's going to run into a brick wall."

Even if it doesn’t and we win, El-Presidente will just ignore the court, as he has in the past.

...”I’m already considering abandoning this sinking ship. I’m too old for this. While there aren’t a lot of places on earth to go, there are still a few where they will basically leave you alone if you don’t make any waves”...

My fear is that good people with the resources will do this and my greatest fear is that our highly trained doctors and nurses and other professionals will flee the country. Academic medicine is going down in America but other nations are highly respectful of that knowledge and expertise. People do not want to leave the land they love but survival in so many ways is at stake. Other nations are poised to take up the mantle that we are being forced to abandon in favor of dictatorship. A high majority of Americans do not like and are fearful of what is going on but feel powerless to do anything about it under a system which has been highjacked by those who have no respect for our Constitution. A small number of anti-Americans with a compliant media have managed to do this to us. We will see whether our the Judeo-Christian values, which is the common culture of the American majority, will prevail in the end.

RE :”Start impeachment hearings this morning. Stop all funding for anything for the executive branch immediately”

No chance of impeachment.

They already passed a budget so no chance of that either.

Their chances in court dont look very good either.

Jeeze its cold outside here.

That’s true, napscoordinator. Executive orders have been seriously overused, and are being used to extend the authority of the executive branch well beyond the limits detailed in the Constitution.
Unless and until someone stands up to this anti-American stooge, he will continue to take more and more authority where, legally, none exists.
As noted, too, there will be questions of ‘standing’ in the court challenges. That little legal notion is being used by gutless, libtard judges to avoid difficult cases.
Somewhere along the line, at some time (soon, we hope) in the future, the American people will be forced to take back the country. I would prefer that to be sooner, rather than later, so that my children and grandchildren don’t have to.
