Cruz: Iran Might Nuke New York or Los Angeles

I think you’re spot on in this most basic way - once an attack is launched, the results are unpredictable. My own belief is that any EMP attack would be spotty at best, which is actually worse than a total shutdown, as those areas or individuals with remaining power and facilities would have to deal with a crazed push from those who would be affected.

There’s options that seems improbable, but could happen. Let’s say there’s an EMP attack from Islamic terrorists. Maybe Obama would go on television and announce a deathbed conversion to Islam. Maybe Obama would decide not to retaliate. Maybe the armed forces would attempt - successfully or unsuccessfully - a coup against the executive branch. Maybe the Chinese would be invited to “rebuild.”

All I can say with certainty is once these sorts of events start, the outcome is impossible to predict.

We can probable survive without those two cities.

We likely would but life as we know it getting national information if we lost Times Square would change drastically. Would not be hearing Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, Mark Levin, national cable for some time unless you live in the city from which they broadcast.

Unfortunately, if signals were repared they'd likely have to go thru Washington DC (which is worse). I can see it now "hate speech no longer allowed on the airwaves".

I saw it...it was a intensely bright orange light moving up so fast it appeared to defy gravity. From the angle I saw, it was heading north 80 degrees from the horizon when looking due east from the new jersey shore. BTW, a lot of other people saw it too. It prompted them to take out a full page ad in the NYT. Regardless of whys and wherefors, that plane was downed by a missile. I saw it!

The attack would make even Obama unable to prevent a counter strike. If he tried, he would be pulled from the White House and the Army would take over. Any nation who supported the Terrorists gould would suffer atomic attack. No nation would stand in our way out of fear we would start WW 3. As for the re-building it would all be Americans—Chinese would be forced to pay for it only -— When done the USA would be a very different land.
