OLYMPIA, Wash. Former Arizona U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who survived a 2011 shooting, testified Tuesday before a Washington state House panel considering an initiative to expand firearm background checks in the state, telling lawmakers that "the nation is counting on you."
With her husband, retired NASA space shuttle commander Mark Kelly, sitting next to her, Giffords spoke slowly and briefly to the panel that was taking public testimony on Initiative 594, which seeks to require background checks for all sales, including online sales and private transactions, such as those that occur at gun shows. The checks would be conducted at federally licensed firearm dealers, where people already must undergo such scrutiny before purchasing a new weapon.

Screw her and the horse she rode in on.Her husband committed a felony when he bought a firearm at a gun show last year!
I have been trying to get the folks organizing the following event to “disinvite” him...

Her First Amendment permit is in order, I presume.
lmao
I believe his self admitted “strawman” buy was at a gun shop in Tucson, AZ. (Don’t you try that! Just the rich and famous libs are allowed to do so.)
She needs to go back home and vegetate.
did she testify to what her hubby did last year?
Of course not. They’re part of the “protected” class. Have your daughters dog attack a seal pup? In Cali? No problem.
Or, as I call him, "Space Captain Crazyface".
Look, I'm sorry she got shot and am happy she survived, but she and her lunatic husband have long since worn out their welcome and now they're beginning to spend away their sympathy reserve.
Sorry. Reserve MT! Houston, you have a problem.
Every seller at every gun show already is forced to comply with the instant check system. The gunshow loophole that Clinton kept alluding to is a guy who gets out of his car and sells another guy in the parking lot an old gun he no longer wants. According to the law, he is not supposed to do that. Passing one hundred more laws will not force some people to obey the law. I bought a Marlin 39A from a friend. We met at a gun shop west of Norristown, Pa. and had it formalized on paper. That’s the law and we complied. No law will force some people to comply.
HUH? Private sales are not “outlawed” in NV. Not yet anyway though “they” are going to push it again in the next legislative session. Already gearing up to counter their attacks. Simple power point of:
1. Picture of a 3 pound rock.
What does the rock do? Nothing.
Is the rock capable of killing a someone? Yes, if a person were to use it as a means of killing someone.
2. Picture of a firearm.
What does the firearm do? Nothing
Is the firearm capable of killing a someone? Yes, if a person were to use it as a means of killing someone.
Not every state requires a background check for a PRIVATE sale of a firearm no matter where the sale takes place, Arizona for one. When you buy from an FFL then a background check is required no matter where the sale takes place in any of the 50 states.
Meat Puppet.
Every time I see him, I remind myself this is a man who was trained to s*** himself. Most of us were trained as toddlers to not do that.
Colorado’s ‘rats forced through expanded background checks last year, and I could swear that there has been an INCREASE in firearms-related crime since then.
I had a little email back-and-fourth with John Lott about how to research this, and he said that the real statistics won’t likely be available for a couple of years.
Bummer.
If only the Conservative Federal Judge murdered that day had the opportunity to express an opposing view.
Ms Giffords survival and recovery was a miracle — I’m very happy for her and her family. I regret, however, the political exploitation of her injuries and the attack that also affected many other lives.
Yup. Ya gotta let the manure ferment for a while and then the stink will really start to waft about. Stankeeeeee! Just a guess, but more than likely John Lott knows what he’s talkin’ about. LOL!
