Ryan: Legal status won't be 'automatic' (Ryan pitches GOP Mass Amnesty scheme on MSNBC)
The Hill ^ | 1/29/14 | Mario Trujillo

Posted on 01/29/2014 8:23:51 AM PST by jimbo123

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) confirmed on Wednesday that the House GOP’s principles on immigration reform would endorse giving legal status to undocumented immigrants.

Ryan reiterated there would be no “special” pathway to citizenship for those immigrants, but said they would be able to apply for a green card after a long set of requirement were met. He did not, however, provide a timeline.

The former vice presidential candidate said the principles would also outline a probationary work status those illegal immigrants would be initially defined under until the border is secure and a host of other requirements are satisfied.

“That is the kind of broad brush here — that is the kind of process we envision that is not a special pathway to citizenship, and it is not automatically, in anyway, giving an undocumented immigrant citizenship,” he said on MSNBC.

American politicians are hell-bent on getting the invaders legalized. Warning: It is a loser among most groups of voters. Politicians who propose it or vote for it are politically doomed.

Of course it’s a special path: it allows them to live here, soaking up jobs and benefits and birthing US citizens for any period they have to wait until they become legal voters.

It’s amnesty!

The result is going to be that 12million or whatever number of illegals will be handed a card that allows them to stay with little or no action on their part..none will be deported. Somewhere done the line there will be a further amnesty or court action that grants them citizenship rights...criminals and all.
The real reform needed in our immigration laws is the need to enforce them.
Cut off the jobs..deport all those that come into contact with law enforcement and punish those that hire them.

As I read in another recent piece, the GOP will NEVER be able to jump high enough to appease the Leftist Amnesty pushers, who want no borders at all. Any attempt to do so is self-defeating.

The Dems are winning because they always play on the GOP end of the field. Instead of going on offense with a little pro American job populism the GOP gives the Dems the ball on the one yard line with a weak, defensive game plan.

Translated: it *will* be automatic, but we want you to believe otherwise for as long as possible.

The GOP is rushing to provide amnesty. The only reason they’re not pushing full and complete open borders and immediate citizenship is because they know the American people will definitely rise up against that.

Along with their “card” will be a voter ID card allowing them to vote themselves more benefits. Immigrate to meh-hee-co and see if you’re ever allowed to vote. (But why would you do that???) :>}

“Oh, don’t worry, Mr. Jones. The squatter who moved illegally into your guest house won’t automatically be made a member of your family. Why, we’re going to give him a real stern talking-to before allowing him to remain in your guest house forever, requiring you to support him and making him an heir in your will! There. Now, doesn’t that make everything okay?”

We may very well decide on humanitarian grounds, that we must allow some of the people who have come here in violation of the law and who have stayed here in violation of the law, and who have worked here in violation of the law, to have some legal status to live and work here. We DO NOT OWE THEM ANYTHING ELSE! And we especially do not owe them the right to vote.

If we grant such people the vote, we would be MAKING A GRAVE MISTAKE if only because the law must mean something of value to those we allow to vote on who will be in office.

Here is their out. They will grant amnesty and say that they can not vote for ex, amount of years. A court will over rule this law and these people will get their voting rights. The E-pubes will then claim it was the courts who did it and the only one who will win will be the commies.

Exactly. The courts will say something like, “oh, we can’t have two classes of citizens... lets make them the same”

I have no problem with this as long as one of the requirements is that the illegal invaders return to their home countries and get at the back of the line.

Ryan has proven himself to be just another democrat and anyone who even suggests amnesty should be tried for treason!

Bull. Any type of legalization will be de facto citizenship given the way the federal government executes immigration law and doles out benefits. Don’t ever trust anything the GOP Ruling Class says about immigration.

The GOP leadership can claim and spin as much as they want.

This is little short of treason in a bad economy and with a rampaging marxist in the WH.

If amnesty is a central plank of the GOP platform I am not voting for anyone with an (R) behind their name on the 2014 ballot. Conservatives need to send a very clear message to the GOP now: Play with this fire and they will die as a party.

If you call this new state “legal status” by some gerrymandering of words and law, then does that mean once you implement this plan (that we don’t want, by the way), you’re actually gonna arrest and deport those NOT getting “legal status”?

No. You still need somebody to do the work that the legals won't do.

The illegal invaders must NEVER be gifted with our precious citizenship because there is NO way to stop them from having the right to vote. The 1965 Voting Rights Act will give them a vote.

Ryan is going to find himself more and more comfortable on MSNBC, hawking sure votes for Democrats, from this pool of un-assimilated illegals who are about to be rewarded by his efforts.

Positively lawless activity.
