Former Bush Speechwriter: Obama Plagiarized Bush’s 2007 SOTU Speech
Breitbart ^ | 1-29-14

Following President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, former George W. Bush speechwriter Mark Thiessen told Fox News Channel’s “The Kelly File” host Megyn Kelly that Obama’s speech plagiarized lines from Bush’s 2007 speech, for which he said he was the lead speechwriter.

“It was eerily familiar,” Thiessen said. “There were lines like, ‘Our job is to help Americans build a future of hope and opportunity. A future of hope and opportunity begins with a growing economy. A future of hope and opportunity requires our citizens have affordable and available health care.’ ‘Extending opportunity and hope depends on a stable supply of energy.’ All of that came from the 2007 State of the Union address by George W. Bush.

Actually, he is rumored to have never written his own bio...and there is some suspicion that he’s never written anything but speeches in his entire life.

He doesn't even write the speeches. He has a similarly ignorant 20-something who does that for him.

Most of Obama’s crap is regurgitated crap from previous regurgitated crap. Plagiarizing one of Bush’s speeches is a huge step forward, except Obama will turn that into crap, and he will keep going back to it.

True. And what that means,,is that SOTU speeches are all meaningless BS and have been for a while. The same platitudes gets recited, a veteran gets waved at, and newsworthy member of the masses like a teacher or fireman gets recognized. A few Horatio Alger examples are given. We are told that we are almost energy independent. It’s all capped off by a boring speech with the farce of applause and jumping up and down.

It’s a national embarrassment.

Well that is impossible because everyone and I mean everyone was bashing the speech that Obama gave. I wonder what people thought of the speech in 2007? Accolades??? lol.

You nailed it perfectly. Wife and I went out for dinner and then I watched a soccer game I recorded earlier in the day. No way either of us was going to waste two precious hours of however many we have left listening to a criminal spew lies. I’d rather watch my dog taking a dump in the back yard. To tell the truth, there isn’t a lot of difference except that we like our dog.

I would doubt that there were any accolades. The hatred of Bush on this site by 2007 was so thick that it was barely possible to mention his name.

It would be more like Obama’s speech if your dog went into the neighbors yard and took a dump. LOL

I did not watch the speech either but did enjoy the shows on FOX afterward with a lot of analysis of what went on. The Megyn Kelly show was really good with the Luntz group of mixed republicans and democrats.

BUT...but...but..

“I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters. I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m gonna think I’m a better political director than my political director.”
This quote was attributed to Obama by Patrick Gaspard, who was Obama’s first White House political director, in an interview with The New Yorker in November 2008.
