Not being there or being part of the incident, just like you, I can only guess that gathering the spent brass was part of the investigation into the shooting.

As I posted before:

"...[Becky Haskin] said she immediately went to the scene, saw officers looking for bullet casings..."

She caught them moving evidence so their story would be straight, dear. You're not supposed to move evidence at the scene, remember?

Haskin was there immediately after the shooting, probably before any investigative units had a chance to respond.

Never met anyone pointing a weapon at you in the dark like these cops have, have you?

I'm more situationally aware, and I'm a peasant, so I don't have a license to kill peasants or their dogs...

I must bow to your superior knowledge of investigative techniques and ability to perceive motives at a distance.

Outstanding, truly outstanding.

What was so important about the spent brass?

If not moved or altered, it generally will indicate where the shooters were located at time of the shoot.

BTW, scene evidence should not be moved if possible until the scene investigation is complete.

Where did everyone go? I expected to hear the neighborhood filled with the sound of gunfire as they fought off murderous hoards of police.

If your implying or suggesting I said something inaccurate, spit it out.

Why are cops allowed to skate?

If the details in the article are correct I gotta go with the cops on this one.

>>>>>According to the cops: The two officers encountered an armed Waller near the corner of his home, told them they were police and to drop his gun. Waller didn't drop his gun and instead raised it at Hoeppner who proceeded to fatally shoot the senior citizen seven times.<<<<<<

This was not what witnesses said, but what the cops told the Grand Jury.

He raised his gun at the cops?

Tell me, why would a law abiding citizen do that if he saw uniformed cops who immediatly yell out, "Police drop your weapon"

What would be his motive to then point a weapon at the cops?

Don't make much sense to me unless they said "police, drop it", while at the exact same time emptied on him.

Or did they say anything first? Are there witnesses to support this?

They went to the wrong address and killed an innocent guy. Anything disputed there?

Can’t he even be charged with disposing of government property without a permit?

He wasn’t innocent in their eyes, as the cops alleged, when told, “police drop the gun, he raised the gun at them”.

The dead guy has no say here.

Fort Worthless is more and more becoming a bad place to stay away from.

Yes, I’d stay away. There appears to be a pattern there for the last several years. Stupid judges who let delinquents go to $450K a year rehab because they have Affluenza and cops that are trigger happy and back parking lot blood test traffic stops with the cooperation of the local cops.

As I said, if reports are true. People do things that don’t make sense at the time and it doesn’t work out well. Being shot by the most law abiding citizen can make a person just as dead.

Given the circumstances it may never be proven who was at fault. But as a rule, anyone points a gun at me I have to assume they intend to use it.

Yes and no. Yes, a garage is part of the house. But if the garage door is open, anyone, such as a burglar the police were looking for, could dash inside it. He had to open a door to enter the garage, and that was his mistake.

Importantly, let me distinguish: it was not a legal mistake, but a tactical mistake, which is worse.

My take is similar but that, armed with a warrant, they decided to go loot someone’s garage for goodies before heading to the right address. Burglars with badges.

“He was shot to death and found inside his OWN garage.”

Which indicates the cops were in there too. Ergo, they had entered the garage without serving the search warrant. Why?

They were robbing his garage. He responded and they shot him. The warrant was their license to steal and justification for being on the ‘wrong’ property.

“Not being there or being part of the incident, just like you, I can only guess that gathering the spent brass was part of the investigation into the shooting.”

Wrong! Spent brass is part of any shooting death investigation. In fact its location is critical to determining the location of a shooter and corroborating accounts. The fact the shooters would collect evidence priort to investigators arriving implies culpability.
