In an FDA office building in suburban Maryland, the bureaucrats gather over coffee to draft rules meant to squeeze the trans fat out of snack foods.
Four blocks from the White House, in an EPA conference room: more bureaucrats, more meetings, more drafting of rules, these aimed at forcing industrialists to spend billions cutting carbon to fend off global warming.
Congress? Who needs Congress?
Americans heard President Barack Obama declare this week that he intends to bypass the gridlocked Hill to get things done on his own. What they didnt hear: just how far hes actually pushing his executive authority.
An in-depth examination of the administrations actions and plans, agency by agency, regulation by regulation, reveals an executive power play thats broad and bold and intensely ambitious. Far more than he let on in the State of the Union, the president has marshaled the tools of his office to advance policies, many unabashedly liberal, that push deep into everyday life for tens of millions of Americans.
He wants to change how power plants operate. And what we buy for lunch. How we travel to work. And how our kids learn math. How our gasoline is formulated. How we light our aquariums.
Already, the presidents team has enacted 300 economically significant regulations, far more than Bill Clinton, George W. Bush or Ronald Reagan did in comparable periods...

Command economy and the five-year plan, comrade.
Boner keeps defending Obama
and there are STILL no articles of impeachment
no meaningful Congressional investigations of wrongdoings
and
no exercise of the Congress’ power of the purse.
as long as Boner remains Obama’s Defensive Lineman,
we are stuck with getting The Shaft.
Actually you have to blame Congress, who started delegating their authority to unelected bureaucrats four decades ago to evade the responsibility.
Heck, it's not just bureaucrats: look at the Federal Reserve.
And then the limitation and elimination of troublesome opposition groups through such tools as the IRS and Obamacare efficiency standards.
Its way way past time for impeachment. The charge alone could serve to slow this maniacal Marxist a bit.

Send the GOP a message: Dismiss Boeher or we de-fund the GOP. Not one dime for these flunkies.
By the way, miss Romney yet? Make another stupid mistake and we will have a Queen Hillery in 2016.
You will never understand bureaucracies until you understand that for bureaucrats procedure is everything and outcomes are nothing. -
Thomas Sowell
I’ve already done that, thanks
The reason Congress is gridlocked is because there is deep division in the country about where it should go. That is the precise reason that radical leftist Obama should not be taking matters into his own hands, and precisely the reason the healthcare legislation should have never been passed in the first place. FURTHERMORE, it is the precise reason that BONER absolutely should NOT be playing footsie with the President on immigration.
They way things have been going in Washington, if terrorists would just start there and continue until they finished the job, I would just about pull for them. They wouldn't do nearly as much harm as obama, Congress and the reg-happy bureaucracy has done.
"To preserve [the] independence [of the people,] we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses, and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers." - Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:39
I can't recall seeing any trans fats in anything anymore. They all brag about their products not having any....................
We are treated as less than serfs.
If Republicans think they can stop Obama by winning the Senate, they're stupid. His tens-of-thousands of bureaucrats will continue his mission no matter which party controls the legislature.
